I think as a fan base we should nix this speculation and let the team prove themselves—meaning everyone gets a chance to make adjustments and adapt to a team trying to win.

I need a season of good vibes and fun hoops

For a player like Giannis? Sure, but we should not be looking to offload him for complimentary parts...

For who?

Would any of these guys be available? Probably under no circumstances can you get any of these guys for Barnes...
Amen Thompson
Suggs
Paolo
Franz
Sengun
Chet
J Dub
Cade
Mobley
Flagg

Not so sure about Brandon Miller or Jabari Smith Jr

A few guys who maybe would be available if their teams start the season poorly that I could see maybe trading for Scottie:
Trae Young
Jamal Murray
Sabonis
Ja Morant
Lamelo

The best time to trade Barnes was 2 years ago. The second-best time is now.

Boring and bad.

So a team that has lacked talent the last several years wants to trade one of their most talented players.

No one should truly be untouchable if the right package comes along but how about we let things unfold for at least 1 season when we have enough talent to be decent.

Scottie is one of the most likely centerpieces for a Giannis trade in the league even without Masai. Short of that, we're not going to "make him available" or whatever until it's clear it's not going to work, and I don't believe we know that yet.

I can't see them keeping this together that long if it's failing, imo.

No. It's way too early.

We need time to let these guys figure out how to play together.

If the fit doesn't look good by the end of the season though.....of course you have to consider things.

I was gonna say it would be smart to trade him for a bunch of depth. But we have no championship caliber 1st option stars on this team. Based off his potential, he IS that championship caliber 1st option. Be patient

We shouldn’t force, no. And if the biggest question mark we have is him, it’s a great problem. The only reason you consider trading is because it would (you hope) be a significant haul.

A team that shows like last night with all pieces flowing, Darko ball - with BI regulating and if the Def intensity stays high and creates opportunities in transition - could be really good.

We definitely don’t need to be running anyone out, but we should be open minded to how we make the team the best it can be.

A big part of that equation is the trade value of others, and ability to replace what they provide.

Barnes is our best player. Ingram will be our best scorer. RJ is trade bait. Real question is what the hell is IQ doing?

It’s not not the time.

It’s not the time for this thread though.

You trade Scottie if you can get a star/superstar that isn't on his last leg (i.e. not for KD)

The problem is the system's changed. Now he's a ball facilitator. Good for at least five assists a night.

I'm ready to move on for a good trade. We've given him a fair chance.
