Yeah the tales get taller and taller as the time goes on. I mean Wilt used to beat up mountain lions after banging 5 women after a back to back where he drove the team bus or something.
Yup. Here's another with Mike Miller (6ft 7 1/2):

Ariza (6ft 7) and Battier ( 6ft 8.25 btw he spent 4 years in college):

6'11 Alright  .. dude just be capping. Just like when he was saying "I got double and triple teamed, whereas Kobe got single coverage (when he played with Shaq)" during his segment with enabler Gilbert Arenas (who's just in it for the views). LOW on youtube exposed him and pretty much both Kobe and T-Mac were operating in similar spaces. T-mac is acting like we cant get footage.. this isn't the 1960s. lol

Low IQ/character individual, exposed

Now we know why Kobe kicked his ass over and over even though Tmac had the physical gifts and skills to match him. It's all about what's upstairs

I cropped it from this video (5:56):

Per Kendrick Perkins and the height boosting tactics.

You calculate their listed height by measuring them barefooted and adding one and half inches. This is how it’s always been, and it’s an extremely easy concept to understand.

If Cooper Flagg is 6’7.75 barefooted, he’ll be listed at 6’9. Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan (both listed at 6’6) were both around 6’4.5 barefooted.

But why? Why is there a tendency to list player heights with shoes in the first place? I’m just wondering who originally thought it was necessary to make that distinction. When I say I’m 6'0", 183 cm or whatever, I don’t feel the need to add "barefoot." Why is it different in basketball?
The NBA uses in shoe heights to make players seem even more special. Flagg is listed at 6'8. It's the same as Tinder where everybody is 6 to avoid the filters.

The most dumb arguments surrounding this ever.

Why?
Because these fans want to feel as tall as an NBA player. It's a Tinder thing. Notice it's the 6 foot to 6'2 guys complaining about it? They all mention their own heights in their complaints about nba heights.

Barkley's booking photo had him at 6-7. Pictures from the time showed him in huge cowboy boots, with like 2 to 3 inch heels.

Then you have about 2 inches of height distortion that occurs in the camera image.

So that would put him at no taller than 6-3, if he was standing up straight, which they are supposed to make you do when they take the picture, for accuracy in identification.

Believe w/e you want to on this bro. I watched enough games of Barkley and MJ to know they are almost the exact same height. Just under 6-5.

It's not a belief. It's an actual measurement and photo, and with known shoe heel size and camera distance distortion.

The only way he could be 6-5 was if they made him take the boots off for the shot. But they normally have people keep shoes on, because if they didn't, the photo area would be spreading things like athlete's foot to everyone that stood there.

Other than that, he would have been 6-4, if he was wearing more normal heeled shoes. But the media pictures from the time, showed him in cowboy boots.
So booking photos also measure with sj
Hoes on. Are the coos wwe as well?

While it's easy to understand, we do have a rather standard measurement across the world, to compare people, if needed. You never get measured in your shoes, even though you're not barefoot majority of the time, well outside.

So did you really think Michael Jordan was 6'7 or 6'8 in shoes? Its pretty common knowledge players height is listed in shoes bc you play basketball in sneakers not barefoot.

Welcome to pro sports. Wiki says that Ronnie Lott, former All Pro defensive back, is 6' 0". My father who was 5' 11 1/2" met Ronnie shortly after Lott retired from the NFL (meaning he hadn't shrunk from age). My dad said, "Maybe 5' 10"."

Wemby will be 8' by the time he's 25 according to ESPN and the internet.
In real life I think he's probably 7'4.5" bare feet which translates to 7'6 in shoes, Spurs play Memphis in a month so we should get a good look at how Wemby and Edey compare to each other then.

Some of these guys being 6’4” and jumping the way they do is insane - period- I would rather believe MJ was 6’6” cause if he is 6’4” he is only barely taller than me

3 people I can say heights are over stated - AI - not 6’ and Beal and wall both about 6’2 6’3 max. I stood next to both and was surprised at how short and thin they were

Btw this is heals combine stats

At the 2012 NBA Draft Combine, Bradley Beal’s official measurements were:
• Height (without shoes): 6′3.25″
• Height (with shoes): 6′4.75″
• Weight: 202 lbs
• Wingspan: 6′8″
• Standing reach: 8′4″
• Body fat: ~4.8%

I’m telling you right the height seemed high to me, when I would see him regularly he wasn’t 202 pounds of 4.8% body fat. If he was ever this he would look like a Greek god. 202 and 4.8% is absolutely peeled! - for context 4.8 is some body building level leanesssssss. And Beal was never ever that peeled…cause why would anyone get that lean for an extended period of time? At 5% your chest is vascular… like noticeably vascular - come on nba we all know these stats off…

The crazy part is it’s even more impressive when these guys can fly without unrealistic numbers- the hard work and skills should be more appreciated

So when multiple data points

They measure with shoes on for sanitary reason. But they deduct for shoes and hair in the height listing.

He was measured 6'9 at the combine at age 20. Supposedly grew 4 inches after that

Are you sure about that? The rules of the day were you weren't draft eligible as a foreign entry person until your college class would have graduated, which means Sabonis wasn't eligible for the draft until he was 22. In addition, being behind the Iron Curtain, he wasn't really allowed to engage with NBA teams--that was done through a Soviet Basketball official liaison. On top of that, I understood that he was drafted originally in 1985 (which was invalidated because he was too young) and in 1986 without being made available to any NBA team.

It's pretty well documented that he joined the Soviet team as a 17 year old. As a 17yo, he was listed at 209cm, and by the time he was 18 he supposedly grew 12cm more. That's not that unusual for these giants. And when he was at peak draftability like in 1986, he was clearly taller than David Robinson at the FIBA championships. You can see below some footage, which of course is at an angle and you rarely see them standing straight next to each other, but it looks like when he would have been eligible for the combine he was signficantly larger than Robinson. And by the way--I think you meant the Chicago Rookie Camp, as the NBA draft combine didn't come into being until later years I don't think (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

And not trying to beat you up or anything. Just these nuances of history are interesting and I want to make sure I get them right.
