It's like Ted Williams vs Babe Ruth. Except Ted plays for a loser Yankees team and Ruth is on the Dodgers. :o

Judge couldn't be arsed to go find Soto and tell him he needed to stay a Yankee. He ain't doing none of that.

Dude's too busy going to games with his boy Anthony Rizzo and enjoying his millions

Putting Soto leaving on Judge is confusing as hell to me...Soto was super clear about what he wanted. That man was planning for this moment ever since he was with the Nationals, and it showed in his media preparation...professional as hell. Throughout that whole year with the Yankees, he never ever said anything that would hurt Boras' leverage. He got what he wanted in the end.

Where Judge effed up is when he didn't put pressure on the front office before it got to the point where everything was so dependent on Soto and Judge last year. Hal has been cheap as eff for a very long time. In 2022, Judge signed that contract...that's when he could have had leverage. Except, somehow, a year after signing his contract, in 2023, the Yankees had a 82-80 record...wtf? We can explain a lot of it by the fact that Judge got injured. Except, again, Hal shouldn't be doing that shyt. Facking Dodgers lost their whole starting rotation this year. A lot of good free agents have come and gone before Soto...it's just that the Yankees were so damn cheap for so long that they ended up being desperate for Juan Soto because they shot themselves in the foot so much. It's unreal how clownish Hal has been. He's spent so much on scrubs, just to avoid paying stars.

Also, one sign that shows the Yankees haven't learned shyt. When Judge got hurt this year, the Yankees were getting ready to sell off Bellinger, Grisham, and a bunch of other players. It was only when they learned that he was coming back that they stopped. They know this team is dependent on one guy.

The Mets will slurp up Cody Bellinger this offseason just like we did Juan Soto last season. Think of this like the final "straw" scene in "There Will Be Blood". We have a straw that extends from Queens, under the East River, all the way to the Bronx.

It's so good to be back! :D Hi Blunstoned!

You can "slurp up" whoever you want and still miss the playoffs. That victory lap you think you're on didn't last long.

Y'all need a lot more help than just Bellinger. Alonso is gone but you can't replace his bat. Your defenders are trash all over the field. Lindor's decline is coming. Soto already was the worst defensive right fielder in the majors. Nimmo lol.

More importantly, you guys need to replace your "pitching lab." Senga sucked. Holmes sucked. McLean is overrated and got exposed when the games mattered...he ain't no Schlittler. Tong sucks. Peterson sucks. Manaea sucks. Montas sucks.

Wingo your payroll is 400m and you missed the playoffs. Clean up your own house before throwing stones at the house that George got suspended twice for to let smart people build a dynasty

I disagree about Juan. It was clear that he wanted his money. Not much Judge could do to convince him not to take nearly a billion dollars plus all the amenities for his family. Hal didn't want to ante up. That's on him.

I am probably in the minority but I don't have any ill will towards Juan. Dude was a pro here and gave us a ton of fun moments. I think Yankees fans treating him poorly is just another black eye on a fanbase that has frankly embarrassed ourselves this season.

Judge needs to open his mouth about the awful approach to hitting and the lack of attention to detail regarding base running. Also, the infield needs to get their sh*t together defensively.

This team needs an overhaul in its entire organizational approach that will never happen when the owner doesn't care and the GM thinks he's smarter than everyone is else who actually played the sport. The fact that DEREK JETER hates this man is a massive red flag.

I told yall awhile ago, when Rizzo's concussion went undiagnosed and they had him up at the plate taking MLB speed pitching when he couldn't see the ball, that was a clear sign of organizational rot. Cashman is a jackass and there's a reason why the Old Man wanted his son in law to run things instead of Florida Hal

Yeah. TBH, I never really bought into the after 45-23 start. The lineup was super top heavy and we were somehow winning with uninspiring pitching with the exception of David Peterson who had an AS first half but stunk in the second.

We have a solid core with Lindor, Soto, Alonso, Nimmo. Baty and Vientos started to hit in the second half but were still inconsistent. Whatever. We need to make big changes. Bellinger would give us a solid CF who can play multiple positions well until Carson Benge is ready.

I can see the Mets making a move for Alcantara. We have a lot of money coming off the books this offseason. Stearns better step up his game.

I saw a rumor that Skubal may be on the trading block too. Yall can't go into next season without a substantial investment in starting arms.

I know it's a Yankees thread but I'm pretty pumped for game 7 tonight for my Jays, followed by Knicks season opener Wednesday

A lotta first world problems in this thread. Yankees are still a playoff team year in year out, which matters more in baseball than any of the other sports due to the variance we see in baseball every year. Not many had the Mariners and Blue Jays playing for a World Series trip.

Well, we know who is rooting against the Dodgers. Hal, Cashman, and this guy.

Read on Twitter
\

Guessing Judge and Ohtani are spoiled too.

Read on Twitter

"One thing that really stands out in my head," Ohtani said, "when I had the meeting with the Dodgers, the ownership group, they said when they looked back at the last 10 years, even though they made the playoffs every single year, won one World Series ring, they considered that a failure. And when I heard that, I knew they were all about winning, and that's exactly how I feel."

We won 2 out of three from 76-78? We never won again until the team was built without George. Then we spent our way to nowhere until the year he died. The dynasty would never have happened if George was in control.

That said....we have Judge. We had Soto. We had a bullpen and pitching to add to by going all in George Steinbrenner style with the money. But that really never worked the entire time George was in control. It's funny how that gets lost on people.

Point? We never had much success with George but, we could have won by now if we at least tried to spend to fill out the team. Like the Dodgers.

Oh well. We could always be the Guardians...OR THE METS!

RIGHT WINGO?
