Ffs Victor is unreal.

Just unreal. Like watching modern day Wilt.

He chose Giannis route of running through everyone and dunking on them instead of being a volume 3 shooter and that is terrifying for the league. 3P% will go up as he is more selective as well. Scary.

Guy demolished Anthony Davis. On both ends. Davis looked like silly rookie at times. It's same AD who is top 10 player with peaks of top 5 player and probably one of top 3 best two -way -players league has.
Than they switch to Livley who is one of better rim protectors & most mobiles centers league has. Poor guy had no shot.

Than poor Cooper is thrown to do whatever TF Kidd thought it was good idea. Poor guy probably regrets not staying in college after game 1. Vemby blew by him, blocked him, dunked around him.

By the time 3rd quarter ended, Victor had like 4 dunks on AD, got him in foul troubles, had him shooting 7-22 and limited LIvley on 2 shots

Welcome to a league Coop

If he stays healthy, given how much talent Spurs already accumulated ( Castle is excellent player , Vassell is very good player, Harper looked good, Fox will probably get moved etc) , Spurs can be problem even this year because Victor is type of guy who will be instant lock for DPOY and near MVP level as soon as this year.

Kidd made Cooper the PG? What kind of zen BS coaching is that?

Yeah Fat AD is a thing. I noticed he wasnt as "spry" as with the Lakers..

Crazy debut, even though he did miss two clutch free throws at the end. They get the road win despite only getting 4 points from Embiid.

Embiid is cooked. He should retire now.

He didn't look that bad in only preseason game he played, looked terrible last night. We will see.

I don't think current 76ers need him to be MVP- like to be good team, they need him and George to play and put some 18-ish ppg, Maxey is more than good enough to be best player, Edgecombe looked crazy for a rookie, Grimes is very good, Walker and Barlow looked both better than expected in first game.

Now, if they want to be some 50+ wins, ECF aspiration team, they need elite Embiid. Not sure that thing is in store for him any more. But unlike AD, who looks fat, Embiid at least looks to be in great shape. With several Clippers picks in future going to Philly, they can pivot their team toward Maxey- Edgcombe in years to come, moving from Embiid.

It's too early to really know much, on GB i picked 76ers as big surprise in bold predictions. It's not that i trust them that much, i just don't trust any team on East, and if healthy, and back in 90% of former self, Embiid still is second best player in conference. First game didn't reforge that notion. At all

I can remember watching him the 1st time with 15 or 16 in a trainings video with Gobert on youtube, 2 years before the under 19 Worldcup. He looked great but so did Bol and Co in videos like this. Never thought he would become maybe the LeBron for the next Gen.

My friend from HS played with him when he was on Nanterre 92. Chris Warren.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/boxscores/2020-11-11-nanterre.html

Was their leading scorer while Wemby was coming off the bench as a very young player. I remember seeing his name early and hearing about the buzz but was also like "I don't think he is doing anything really with his minutes" .. now look at him.

Whoever did diet & conditioning for him deserves huge money.

This year he added enough muscles to actually accelerate him. He moves so much faster than last year.

Didnt we frustrate him so much that he said he wanted to dunk on JI after being blocked by him.

Lively was too raw and AD too fat to properly guard him.

I wanna see the swarming defense and twin towers of IHart and Chet.

I wanna see the HOU bigs who have muscle experience and length

Heck i wanna see what JI can do. Lol

BTW Castle still looks like the much better PG prospect than AB. He just can break down defenses with ease, despite being tall and big. In theory they have a ton in common but the athletic advantage of Castle gives him a totally different potential.

I wrote similar stuff on GB today. Due fact Victor is out of a world prospect/player, it goes under a radar how good Castle actually can be.

Castle is one of most skilled guards when it comes to toolbox or moves for player of his age. The ways he gets under defenders is really impressive. Tbh guy's first step is also elite and he is underrated leaper, vs Dallas he had several in traffic dunks that most guards simply don't have tools to do.

I always write that it took me like 8 min of preseason game last year to become his big fan. His manipulation of defenders is something that majority of USA guards, from college, simply don't have. That boy worked on his game with somebody smart for very long time, years before college.

Victor you can look at this 1 game and say "yup, this is probably going to look more like the norm" Cooper Flag alternatively you can toss the idea of one game meaning anything out still. In my humble opinion.

Dallas has a bunch of names on the roster that you would think you would be proud of, but all those names have either seen too many winters or too few.

Knicks on the other hand look poised to take no 1 when I look at their starting 4 + some of their bunch.

Well wishes to Porzings heart issues.

For whatever it's worth, the Billups arrest specifically sounds identical to the Gilbert Arenas arrest from a bit back.

Billups was playing in high stakes private poker games with people with ties to organized crime.

I was a bit depressed (and in awe) watching Wemby last night. If he can stay healthy, the league, and its championships, are his for the next decade plus.

In the 5 minutes I was watching the game closely, Castle blew me away. Looked like star player #2 in those 5 minutes.
