IND lost Turner but just waived Wiseman...I guess he's just cooked physically. Bummer. Maybe one failed stop earlier in his career, I'd still consider a possible rehab project but this is probably it for him.

I still think Bamba on a vet min, limited as he is, might fit better than some others here - as a reserve Center with potential for occasional big shooting nights.

Just curious if Orlando would be willing to part with Black if it meant moving Isaac at the same time?

IE: Anfernee Simons (expiring) for Black and Isaac?

Feel like it works for both team, but obviously I am a celtics homer...so wanted Orlando fans opinion.

Probably not. We're having a tough time defending guards, and we'd be giving up a good defensive guard for a bad one.

Yes on shopping Black/Isaac together, but not for Simons.

Isaac is a trade chip because of his non-guaranteed contract. Black is in our top 6 best players, and he's still at an age to improve.

Trade WCJ and JI if we aren't .500 by the deadline.

Does anyone remember a partially guaranteed deal being waived? If the guy isn't actually out for the year, etc...there's always such a concern for pissing off agents. In the NFL, guys without full guarantees get cut all the time.

AB's early games this season has been a pleasant surprise. Hope he keeps it up!

I think he's played poorly, but it mostly looks like him and the team aren't in sync yet.

Suggs was 7 months older than AB in his 3rd season, and after his first 7 games that season, he was shooting 24% from 3. People here were saying he was a complete bust. Suggs ended up shooting 397 on high volume that season.

Black has the tools he just mentally has to focus, and forget about mistakes. I remember Suggs going 1-10 at Phoenix in his 3rd season and then turned around and shot 25-43 from 3 in his next 5 games.

He's been really bad in certain areas.

His TS% gains have been wiped out by a massive spike in turnovers. Not defending at an elite level (yet) either.

I would get the best possible bench wing for Jonathan Isaac and Anthony Black. Those two are taking up 20mil plus. Jett has no value. Ive accepted we wasted that lottery pick. AB has to go. He will be a good defending wing forward on another team. He is an awful fit on this team and time has run out.

In JI and Jett we've got $20.5M out of the rotation. Jett is effectively an expiring and JI has $8M guaranteed remaining after this season.

What are the team needs? Cap flexibility might be more valuable than any role upgrades.

Edit: They represent $13.8M in cap relief next season. I doubt we trade them for long-term salary. We are at the stage where we need to trade long-term money in any retooling moves.

AB isn't being shopped. We need to be realistic about his development and understand what kind of value the team places on him based on the role they have given him.

1. He is better than the league average in every shooting category except FT% so far this season. For a team that is desperate for shooting that's found money from a "defense first" guard.
2. He's the sixth man. His role has increased every year.
3. He's being developed as a point guard and is seen as one of the best point of attack defenders in the NBA.

We have four players with better than average TS%— Franz, Jalen, Goga, and.... AB.

We’re missing an Ingles vet. Tyus being our oldest player and Isaac being our longest tenured player is not helping the situation.

We have some dead weight wearing down our books (Isaac, Jett in particular).

If we’re not going to start Goga at center, then you’ve got to trade Wendell to find one. WCJ again cannot be a good starting center in this league.

Few things here.

I don’t think Paolo has progressed very much at all in terms of polishing his skillset on offense, which is his entire appeal as a player.

That being said, they won’t trade him even though it would be a bold decision that would probably be smart in the long run. That’s just a fact in terms of efficiency. He comes off as more of a liability you appease rather than someone you plug into a system seamlessly.

You are right though that there is a bunch of dead weight. Carter isn’t a legitimate starting Center. AB is a guy that would draw interest and doesn’t fit with the core IMO considering the investment in Suggs, Bane, and Jase. Isaac is unplayable and nobody is taking on his contract this season unless he’s packaged or a team is looking to dump him 1-2 seasons from now.

Jett and Isaac I doubt have value to other teams.
