Cooper comparisons... IMO Amen Thompson is the best comparison. Amen with more size, less vertical explosion, and a legit jumper.
Draft measurements:
Cooper -- 6'-7.75", 221lbs, 7'-0"wingspan, 35.5"vleap
Amen -- 6'-5.75", 214lbs, 7'-0"wingspan, 44.0"vleap
Clearly Cooper is much more polished, so let's compare Amen's first 5 games of his 2nd season to Cooper's first 6 games this season...
Amen -- 20.5mins, 8pts, 4.2rbs, 1.2asts, 0.4stls, 0.4blks, 46.4fg%, 33.3%3pt
Cooper -- 32.5mins, 13.8pts, 6.5rbs, 3asts, 0.8stls, 0.5blks, 37.3fg%, 28.6%3pt
I have no doubt that Cooper will be an elite shooter. His shot is going to drop. Admittedly, Amen was the 3rd choice on distribution given FVV and Sengun. So let's compare their production this year. Again, Amen has 2 years in the NBA on Cooper, but is now playing a similar role...
Amen -- 33.2mins, 15pts, 6rbs, 5.8asts, 0.8stls, 0.2blks, 46.7fg%, 9.1%3pt
Cooper -- 32.5mins, 13.8pts, 6.5rbs, 3asts, 0.8stls, 0.5blks, 37.3fg%, 28.6%3pt
Seeing this, I'm even more on board with Kidd's role for Cooper.
