I am a certified PJ Washington fan lol.
I mean, he wouldn't make a big difference, but I saw those moves I suggested as being more about making the team more functional/watchable in the short term (the roster is poorly constructed even if they are healthy) and setting them up to hit the ground running once they make a real splash move down the line or/and hopefully get a big hit in the upcoming draft.
Alternatively, they could go the complete opposite direction and just go for a complete tear down and Id get it, but if they are planning on trying to compete in the next couple years they might as well go ahead and look to opportunistically look for upgrades wherever they can find them. The main reason I'm mentioning PJ/Gafford and Claxton is because they seem like they could potentially be available soon. I was looking around the league for teams that might be sellers. Lauri and JJJ seem like they could be the higher impact guys that could be available for a bigger move and I'd also be open to trading for them.

Kalk is definitely doing better than I expected but it's still a weaker rotation than most teams they play.
4 spot being shambles also doesn't do much to relieve the pressure on them.
Kalk and Moose are fine, but they both are about to turn 24 years old and are likely fairly close to their ceilings. I have little confidence either are starting level centers.
