I was embarrassed the first month or so. Had to work really hard (reduce sugar and alcohol, run/jog, lift weights) to be an impact player again. But its possible to reach your fitness goals. My secret weapon is a free ap called “bend.” Do a 15 minute workout each day, don’t skip or take shortcuts. Its just stretches with demonstrations and a timer. You’ll feel 8 years younger in two weeks. You will start feeling athletic again. Throw in a moderate full body weightlifting routine (bench, curls, squats, plyometric jumps) and you can hang with beer drinking 28 year olds, or whatever windmill you are chasing.
Funny seeing this. Was just talking with my cousin how I wake up sore every day and I had been trying to do better about stretching. I usually have 30 minutes each morning wide open. Will be downloading Bend.
Same.
Just did this and the really challenging stuff was the absolute simplest stuff, child's pose and thunderbolt, which require full knee flexion and were deeply uncomfortable. Was invigorating and doesn't hurt now, so I'll check back in in a couple weeks.
