Guerschon Yabusele ($5.5m)
Pacome Dadiet ($2.8m)
Jordan Clarkson ($2.3m)
Landry Shamet ($2.3m)
Tyler Kolek ($2.2m)
Ariel Hukporti ($2.0m)
Mohamed Diawara ($1.3m)
Basically, no one would get traded among our 7 best players:
Jalen Brunson
Karl-Anthony Towns
Mikal Bridges
OG Anunoby
Josh Hart
Mitchell Robinson
Miles McBride
This is the focus. Not some big swing that would gut that 7 man core. My question is can trading two of that bottom 7/non core group net the right big forward who would put us over the top. One tweak is all we need. And that tweak should have been Yabusele if he wasn't such a busy.
We got Yabu's expiring salary + Dadiet + the WAS 1st to work with. It's not nothing and we can sweeten the pie with 2nd rounders and cash. I'm guessing we'll make one trade for a legit 8th man type 6'8 or so 3&D guy. Think Josh Hart mid-season trade... buy low type move.
The issue I am seeing on this forum is that a lot of us are on the same page when it comes to the good trade ideas, but no one is coming up with actual names of players
We all want a 6'8 3&D guy in a mid-season trade
Everyone is having trouble coming up with names of players and trades that actually work with all of these apron rules and no teams being under the cap
I have brought up names we can get without giving up any of our 7 core players! Someone name others!
I know melo brought up Herb Jones, but we likely would need to trade a core player for him
The worry is that we have to give up one of our core players to improve our team
I do not want to!
I feel we can win a championship with our 7 core guys
But we need just 1 or 2 more. We need tall, longer, athletic 3&D guys to beat Orlando, Detroit, maybe Toronto, maybe Chicago, maybe Miami, OKC, Houston, Denver, San Antonio in a 7 game series.
But we also need our 7 core guys because they come with their own set of advantages.
Literally just 1 more guy and we would be golden
It is probably part of the reason why we wanted Ben Simmons but he was unwilling to sign for the minimum
