Maybe you need to read the room? My guess is that everyone in the room knew exactly what CP was saying and that they were all in silent agreement, but in shock that he actually said it. Would have loved to have been in that room

You forgetting his current position. He's on a minimum contract. His job is to only add value, not cause any issues

So he should just shut up and dribble? Players and paople have the right to speak up, even in an employment environment. CP got released from probably the most toxic team situation in the league and he clearly said his piece on the way out. Nothing unjustified about calling out Kawhi and the Clips in general

The Clippers don't owe Chris Paul anything is how I view it. He only signed with the Clippers because they're the hometown team. The guy has been an overrated journeyman for years.

Think beyond hierarchy and maybe you'll see another perspective

6 seasons and 16 games with the Clips. They don't owe Chris anything.

Shams' Inside Pass: Trade buzz on Anthony Davis, Giannis, more

Anthony Davis of the Dallas Mavericks, another former NBA champion, is expected to be a critical trade target of several teams, including many of the East's contenders. The Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Davis, league sources told ESPN.

The Mavericks are open to exploring the trade markets for Davis, center Daniel Gafford and guards Klay Thompson and D'Angelo Russell, sources said. Davis' agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, has met with Mavericks interim co-general managers Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi, and requested clarity about whether the franchise wants to extend Davis in the offseason or trade him ahead of the deadline. Finley and Riccardi accepted the message and stated the franchise wants to keep its options open and view how the team plays for the next few weeks. They have not ruled out the possibility of an extension.

The Pistons (19-5), Raptors (15-10) and Hawks (14-11) represent high-level threats in their conference and are having seasons that give hope that a player like Davis -- a 10-time All-Star who has spent his entire career in the Western Conference -- can elevate them into a viable championship-quality team.

Davis, who turns 33 in March, will become eligible Aug. 6 to sign up to a four-year, $275 million max extension. The extension would pay him $76 million in his age-37 season. Without an extension, he can be a free agent in 2027 if he declines his $62.8 million player option that offseason.

I love the roster we have. I see it has room to improve, it being through trades or with patience and player development.
The weakest spots I can identify at this moment are the SF start position and the PG and SF bench positions. While I like Krejci, I believe the level of Risacher kind of forces us to look for upgrades.
We could also think that JJ, OO, Daniels, Newell, Gueye and even Alexander-Walker have a lot of room to evolve and so we can wait and see the development of Risacher.
With the step forward that OO, JJ and Gueye, each at a different level, has reached this year, I believe we are 1/2 years away from being a really good, good team.
Would it be too late for KP or even Trae. Should we keep them in order to succed?

I am completely against a trade for AD.
I could be open to find ways to trade for Giannis, but I would not touch JJ, KP, OO or KP. Neither Nickeil. If the Bucks want to take Trae and one pick in 2026, that is fine.
I believe Giannis does not fit our timeline, but also think that stars like him could come to Atlanta under very particular circumstances. If you have the possibility or getting him, you have to. But I do not like shortcuts. Giannis could take us even to the Finals, even 3 straight years while the East is as it is now. But does it mean a shot to the tittle. Probably not. Does it mean JJ has to play out of position? Or is he going to be a bench player?
Uff, terrible situation...

The problem with trading for Giannis is the very big risk of him opting out after a year and a half. Yes the money won't be the same, but he can always force a trade to a preferred team. If that is the case, and you unloaded a bunch talent and picks, you are in a terrible situation like you are with so many teams now, deciding whether to limp it or or continue trading future picks to hopefully get some more pieces. I don't see how Giannis makes us a title team with SO many holes this team has.
