That would have been lazy and infantile in the 90s, but joking about not being able to pronounce an own foreign player's name in 2025? So cringey even the first time you hear it, but they keep doing it 50 times a game.

Oh but that's not even the worst part of it. Instead, the guy out of the two who's supposed to know the player's name fu***ng says it wrong, every single time! Did anyone with a single brain cell in the entire network read that name carefully even just once? The guy's name is not MamuSHkelashvili, there's no SH there. How the f**k is it so hard to learn a name? So close to turning the sound of man, too much stupidity to just enjoy the game...

Ya Jack and Matt were doing too much.

It’s not even a hard name to pronounce…

Mamu-kelash-vili

Not sure why they’re struggling with that.

on the postive note its why I love Herbie Kuhn so much. That man gets every single inflection down to a science

They kept putting an 's' in the middle of his last name. I could listen to it again after a while.

He's not even foreign. He was born in the US.

It's incredibly disrespectful and (this is probably too much for this board) but it's also an act of "othering". It's a reinforcement of cultural norms and it's disgusting bigotry.

I think u guys are being overly sensitive about this. If you listen to broadcasts around the league you'll quickly realize how bad the majority of these guys are with tough names, Americans are pretty notorious for this.
Matt has always been pretty good about this, you can tell he's always done his homework, this might be the first name I've heard him mispronounce, I think he deserves a pass...they did beat on it a bit much but you have to acknowledge that Sandros last name is definitely outside of what people are used to.

It ain't that serious

Come on man. That was not the intention. It was more so Jack poking fun at himself.

People on here have been making fun of Gradey's last name since he was drafted. Gradey didn't ask for that last name or to be made fun of for it. I haven't seen any cries of injustice.

Can we start a petition, as Matty to not make his name the.focus of every broadcast throughout the season.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I wasn't referring to Jack.

Based on our shooting Matty making it the focus of every broadcast may be the highlight of the season!

Sandro M. is a solid signing as a forward rotation piece imo, but he is lacking in size as a backup center, which is an obvious roster roster weak spot heading into this season. He''ll be a matchup target when he is up against the likes of Jokic, Embiid, KAT, Edey, JV, Klingan, Allen and Mobley, etc.

Poeltl is a bit undersized himself against some of those biggest of bigs and has not shown to have been so durable these last couple of seasons. The pounding in the post takes its' toll on him.

Continues to be excellent for us off the bench. His D is a problem, but his rebounding and scoring are quite valuable.

Is it really a problem though? 107.8 DRTG on the year, so we have been pretty good defensively with him out there. He allows us to do a lot more switching on PNR's and lets Scottie be more of a roamer out there causing havoc which is what he does best. He's flashed some rim protection at times as well.

Resigning him should be on the top of Bobby's "To Do" list. Especially if he is moving forward with Darko as Head Coach. Mamu plays exactly the way this coach wants the team to play. Losing him would be a major blow.

If they can re-sign him long term for 12 million per, that would be amazing.

It is certainly a lot less of a problem than the boon his offense provides, regardless. And if we find a way to help him grow as a defender, so much the better.

His defence is 0 issue as long as he is coming off the bench.

Major issue if he is starting though. If he was a plus defender the guy would be getting usage somewhere and would be damn near an all star

TIL that Sandro was born in NYC, grew up in Georgia (the country), then in Italy, before moving back to Florida and played AAU with RJ Barrett?

Unless I missed this on a broadcast, have we never pointed out Sandro and RJ played together in high school?

That's a reasonable way to look at it.
