Not that AD isn't good, but I think there's a bit of a Poeltl scenario + the Mavs not having much starter-level depth. Any team not really having any other high level PF/C's and losing out on an all-star big is gonna hurt. I'm just wondering how synergistic he'll be on a team that needs some elite offense and perimeter shooting (of course adding him or even healthy Poeltl will help us tons in terms of having a defensive big man anchor)
The offense may still look a bit rough if Scottie/Ingram/CMB all like operating/hanging out in the mid-range or closer to the basket..especially if IQ is going the other way. AD (and our own players) would be better complimented with floor spreaders and on-ball guards. On top of that, I'm not sure if the Raps really need another high volume scorer. A Jrue Holiday/Lowry/Derrick White type floor general with high volume 3's and efficient scoring on ~15-17 PPG would be the ideal complement imo.
If all you’re trading is like poeltl plus dick and scraps for Davis, I would 100% take that risk. If it’s for any more than that, I.e quickley plus Rj it’s. Hell no and bobby is an idiot
Trade isn't possible without moving 2 starters.
Trading for Davis while getting rid of Rj and quickley will be one of the dumbest moves in franchise history. The guy has been unhealthy for the majority of his career and he’s 32 already. He played 9 games last season, 42 the year before and 51 the year before that. wtf are we doing here. Again he’s a super buy low candidate, he’s not worth anything more than what we gave up for Ingram at this point in his career. So again if it’s Poeltl and scraps I’m cool, mainly because we at least have Murray boyles who’s shown he can play small ball c. anything more is dumb.
