Not that AD isn't good, but I think there's a bit of a Poeltl scenario + the Mavs not having much starter-level depth. Any team not really having any other high level PF/C's and losing out on an all-star big is gonna hurt. I'm just wondering how synergistic he'll be on a team that needs some elite offense and perimeter shooting (of course adding him or even healthy Poeltl will help us tons in terms of having a defensive big man anchor)

The offense may still look a bit rough if Scottie/Ingram/CMB all like operating/hanging out in the mid-range or closer to the basket..especially if IQ is going the other way. AD (and our own players) would be better complimented with floor spreaders and on-ball guards. On top of that, I'm not sure if the Raps really need another high volume scorer. A Jrue Holiday/Lowry/Derrick White type floor general with high volume 3's and efficient scoring on ~15-17 PPG would be the ideal complement imo.

If all you’re trading is like poeltl plus dick and scraps for Davis, I would 100% take that risk. If it’s for any more than that, I.e quickley plus Rj it’s. Hell no and bobby is an idiot

Trade isn't possible without moving 2 starters.

Trading for Davis while getting rid of Rj and quickley will be one of the dumbest moves in franchise history. The guy has been unhealthy for the majority of his career and he’s 32 already. He played 9 games last season, 42 the year before and 51 the year before that. wtf are we doing here. Again he’s a super buy low candidate, he’s not worth anything more than what we gave up for Ingram at this point in his career. So again if it’s Poeltl and scraps I’m cool, mainly because we at least have Murray boyles who’s shown he can play small ball c. anything more is dumb.

It's not possible for it to be Jak + Scraps when AD makes 54m a year.

Perhaps they try to put pressure on Grizz or Kings.

yeah probably just getting treatment back in Toronto but IQ and Temple aka "the back spasm boys" made the trip. Maybe their injuries popped up after the flight.

Oh you'll watch the first game he plays. Then you can quit when he gets hurt in that same game lol.

Ayo Dosunmu or Andre Drummond?

I think both would be solid gets.
Drummond as a backup C.
Ayo as a backup combo guard.

IQ and Poetl arguably have negative value right now due to their contracts...if that's all it costs to get AD, troublesome as he is, you gotta do it.

Haha same. He was playing so damn great. If him and Kyrie could have stayed healthy, they could have been a dangerous team man. Although then he never get Cooper. Still the dumbest trade ever lol

The Mavs might see the depth loss on our side as a good bet for the draft pick(s) if AD stays injured compared to the Hawks who are already mid, but moving nothing that that was actually playing this season. That's the only advantage over the cap space I could see, unless they're more worried about the 2027 pick

As would I but I'm not sure how available he is.

Either way, I'd do a deal for Lamelo or stand pat. I don't like Ja's archetype (small guard that can't shoot and relies on athleticism) and Lamelo solves a ton of issues for us.

And id rather trade for Jokic but things dont work like that.

I also would prefer Lamelo but there seems to be 0 reason why the Hornets would be in any rush to trade him. They've been playing good basketball lately and he seems to have been a good teammate even during the times hes gotten benched. Its not like we'd be trading anything that would make the Hornets feel they need to move off Lamelo.

Waiting for someone to say lamelo can’t shoot
I believe in Masai.

IQ, Purtle, Ochai, Mogbo for AD, Russell. Perhaps a protected 2027 pick. That sounds tempting to me.
