On balance he is a net negative on the court for a team with 13 wins. He plays help defense like a guy in a chair and he can't shoot. Not a great combo in today's game.

Playing on a bad team has an impact on a players net/plus rating. You focusing only on weaknesses is cherry picking, and doesn't negate the positives.

By your logic, Alex Sarr should have been traded, he had a negative net rating his first rookie year as-well.

Queen is actually older than Sarr right now and Sarr didn't stand still with his hands down watching guys shoot layups right in front of him.

I don't remember anyone hyping up Sarr as a rookie but I see that a lot with Queen. People like yourself completely ignore his inability to shoot and his Matador D. The fact that Erik has his own thread on a Wizards board just shows how over hyped he is

False, I fully acknowledge his weaknesses. On-balance Derik is having very good rookie year.
Btw, this discussion should perhaps be merged with the 2025 rookie thread.

If you guys want to see an end to the Deni thread, you probably should stop trolling on this thread.

Deni will flop and flail and complain his way to 25 points a game and 36 wins for the next half decade and the Dumars/Queen combo going to lead that team to the promised land of Seattle. Troll posts will continue and I'm here for it.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot? Urinal cakes!

JuJu is better than Derik so far. JuJu is playing like a lottery big.

Read on Twitter

DQ looks too small now. Fat shamers took away the essence of his game. Girth.

He doesn't look large and in charge now.

How tall is DQ, he appears the same height as JuJu who is supposed to be 6”9.

On the DQ update, the Pels usage of their rookies has changed from the beginning of the season, they were losing with them playing heavy minutes, and they are losing with them playing a limited role. The Pels have not gotten anything right clearly because they shouldn’t be “this bad”, they need a good coach to shake everything up.

Their defense is atrocious. Their rotations are a step slow across the board. Herb Jones and Missi are Their only plus defenders. Zion's defense is surprisingly, unexpectedly bad. Their coach was fired at the beginning of the year because of the lousy defense.

The Pelicans are now 8-5 in their last 13. This has coincided with Queen coming and Fears coming off the bench, going against some tanking teams (Wizards, Jazz twice, Kings), and their point guard Murray coming back to the lineup. Their schedule tightens up quite a bit playing teams like the Rockets, Pistons, and Knicks over the next 5.

All the red flags about Queen are pretty much the reason why he's coming off the bench. He'll need to be in a very specific situation where he can shine. Maybe putting him next to Bam might be good but he's a turnstile on defense.

That could be a Shaqtin a fool play.

Somehow had a good game in box score (13/5/5) and was +17 - while it was the G-League Wizards.

On the season the Pels are 4 pts worse per 100 possessions with Queen on the floor. No wonder he isn't starting any more.
