We are 'Duncan Robinson' aka soft and timid. You don't see that hunger and toughness. Just look at the postgame interviews. These players don't even look like they care. Heck, we the fans show more of a pulse! They can't wait to swap jerseys and gossip with the opposing players after losses all smiling and ****!
HC Brown has done some good things and a 34-20 record is alright but considering the expectations coming into the season, I cannot say with a straight face that expectations have been reached. We are that student that barely passed the midterm.
Also losing faith in JB. I think we try to fool ourselves into hoping he is that elite level player and leader but I think maybe he's just a Robin and we still do not have a Batman.
You may be right but for those of us who remember the arid desert between Ewing teams and now, part of me is still just grateful to watch the Knicks be a certain playoff team again.
Also, I can image fans back then saying the same thing (Robin not Batman) about Ewing.
Or going back in NBA history, take away West from the Chamberlin Lakers, etc. Was West the Robin or Batman there? Kobe & Shaq; Magic & Kareem; -- it takes 2 usually. KAT was supposed to be one but can you compare him with any of the other championship bigs of note?
i think JB is a lot closer to being our #1 than KAT is to any of the noted bigs you find on championship teams. It almost seems like he has Walt Bellamy numbers not Wilis Reed (presence/force/inspiration) numbers.
