TYRAN STOKES is a consensus five-star basketball recruit in the United States' high school class of 2026. He is the consensus #1 player in his class. All of ESPN, On3 / Rivals, and 247 Sports all have him at #1.
Stokes is a highly decorated player who has extensive experience playing for USA Basketball, where he won three gold medals playing for the 2025 USA Men's U19 National Team, 2024 USA Men's U17 National Team, 2023 USA Men's U16 National Team.
In the 2025–26 season, his senior year of high school, Stokes played high school basketball for the Rainier Beach High School Vikings in Seattle, Washington (with notable teammate freshman J.J. Crawford, Jamal Crawford's son). Rainier Beach had a 29-1 record. Stokes had a game where he scored 63 points on senior night. To end the season, Stokes led Rainier Beach to a Class 3A Washington state title in a game where he scored 16 points in a 75-53 win.
During the season, Stokes averaged 31.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 4.0 steals per game.

Stokes was born on October 12, 2007 (making him three months younger than Cameron Boozer, the youngest player selected in the 2026 NBA draft). His hometown is Louisville, Kentucky. If he declared for the 2027 NBA Draft, he would be 19 years and 8 months old on draft day.
Of the top 20 recruits (as per ESPN, On3 / Rivals, and 247 Sports) in his class, Stokes was the final player to commit to a college. He signed with the University of Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12 Conference on April 28, 2026, and he will play college basketball there as a freshman in the 2027 season.
The University of Kansas listed him as a guard who is 6' 8" tall and who weighs 230 pounds. He wears the #4 jersey for the Jayhawks.
