Because you don't know when the hot bat is going to go cold and the cold bat is going to get hot. There's a reason that Counsell is a bench player. He's not likely to stay hot and have a couple of good offensive games in a row.
ok, but you cant just play a season with guys that are "bound to have a good game soon". im not saying counsell should play everyday, but i dont think weeks should either. and right now i would start counsell at leadoff, because how he has been hitting as of late/.
