Because you don't know when the hot bat is going to go cold and the cold bat is going to get hot. There's a reason that Counsell is a bench player. He's not likely to stay hot and have a couple of good offensive games in a row.

ok, but you cant just play a season with guys that are "bound to have a good game soon". im not saying counsell should play everyday, but i dont think weeks should either. and right now i would start counsell at leadoff, because how he has been hitting as of late/.

I am sorry but Counsell needs to play....I would rotate him between Weeks, Hardy and Hall, at least until he cools off. Weeks and Hardy have be awful, they are not kids anymore so its time for those two to nut up and play.

And you can't go and say well Counsell had three hits yesterday, he should play again because those three hits may carry over into today's game.

yes, but he has been hitting well all year so far. but i feel safer with a guy that has been hitting and has confidence, over a guy who hasnt really picked up his bat yet this year.

Does your belly button lint talk to you? Well, even if it doesn't I guess you could say nobody talking is better than Nelson.
