Huh? Why?

Miles and Simmons expire at the same time so there's no savings there.

You're basically trading Jack and a first for a six point scorer coming off of a major injury. So far, he hasn't shown that he's still the guy who once averaged 16 a game.

I read the MIL boards and their disdain for the unproductive Gadzuric, Simmons and Villanueva. MIN, on the other hand, doesn't care about production, so they might make a decent trading pair, if MIL can offer either cap space or future considerations. I offered this last week, and received some positive responses from many posters on either side:

MIL GETS: Ryan Gomes, Marko Jaric
MIN GETS: Gadzuric, lottery-protected first.

The way I see it, Jaric > Gadzuric, and Ryan Gomes = late first.

WHY FOR MIL: This trade does more than just removing Gadzuric from the line-up. It amps up production by a lot (+16 PPG, +5 RB, +5 AST). Jaric can provide size and perimeter defense, and Gomes is young vet who's started over 100 games. His hard work, strength and attitude allow him to work inside and outside.

MIL has four really good players, and Yi and Bogut are just going to get better by the end of the season. It seems to me that they could do some damage in the East if they could just add some players that compliment them. I could see these guys doing that.

WHY FOR MIN: MIN's guys are far more productive, but they are rebuilding, so they don't need it. Gadzuric may get some minutes next to Al Jefferson, and while he's a four-year deal, he's slightly cheaper than Jaric. A lottery-protected first provides some incentive.

Incidently, Villaneuva really doesn't fit here, but we could work something out for him too. I don't see a way for MIN to take Simmons though.

This is similar to Flash is the Future's trade proposal a couple of pages back, but I want to get feedback from MIL fans.

Trade ID #4385887

Milwaukee Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons, Ira Newble, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall, '08 1st from CLE, '10 1st from CLE
Outgoing Players: Michael Ruffin, Charlie Bell, Dan Gadzuric, Michael Redd
MIL sheds salary and adds a couple of decent young prospects. They also bolster their rebuilding project with two CLE picks.
Williams, Simmons, Mason, Jianlian, Bogut
Ivey, Brown, Villanueva, Simmons, Voskuhl

Cleveland Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Charlie Bell, Dan Gadzuric, Michael Redd, Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas
Outgoing Players: Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons, Ira Newble, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall, Larry Hughes, '08 1st to MIL, '10 1st to MIL
CLE entrenches itself financially, in order to build its lineup around James. Buckeye Redd would be the perfect marksman to use alongside Lebron, and they nab several veterans who could work well around a superstar. Ferry spoke in the offseason, of not being afraid to add salary in order to build around the King. Well, it's time to put his money where his mouth is.
Gibson, Redd, James, Gooden, Ilgauskas
Bell, Brown, Pavlovic, Songaila, Varejao

Washington Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Michael Ruffin, Larry Hughes
Outgoing Players: Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas
WAS trades away two marginal assets, and return a pair of familiar faces who can contribute to the playoff push. They also save a little cash, as Darius' deal lasts a year longer than Hughes'.
Arenas, Stevenson, Butler, Jamison, Haywood
Daniels, Hughes, Young, Pecherov, Blatche

[I would also suggest a Daniel-Jones swap added onto this trade (w/Snow to MIL instead of Damon), but WAS fans have disliked the idea of downgrading just to save a year of salary at backup PG, so I've left it out.]
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Two late 1st rounders, one of them two and a half years away and assorted **** for Redd. Somehow I think I'll pass.

Larry Hughes was a nice consolation prize, no?

The problem with Redd is that his contract is so huge that his trade value is limited. If Milwaukee has concluded that he cannot lead his team as the alpha dog superstar, then I'm sure most other GM's have drawn that same conclusion.

We're talking about paying $66M over the next 4 years (counting this one) for a "second fiddle" kind of player. I like Redd a lot, but that salary is huge. Milwaukee isn't going to get much more than expiring contracts and maybe a late 1st rounder in return for him.

Not even if the pick wasn't included.

Maybe the Bucks and Charlotte have the same problem...which would be an inexperienced coach? That's what I think our main issue is anyway.

Actually the Bucks problem is a meddling owner and his yes men, cronie, douche bag lawyers.
