Pistons/Spurs or Suns?

Give me Pistons/Spurs, the Suns are never going to win a title with their (Please Use More Appropriate Word) play. Let me also take this time to say that Steve Nash is severely overrated. That guy is a product of the Phoenix system.

Your naming title winners though keep it fair.

You can't say Do you rather the Champs or the team the champs beat ?

Nash is an all-star, but he's not worthy of any MVP trophies. He wasn't putting up these kind of stats during his Dallas days. He's being glorified by Phoenix' system, pure and simple.

how is it not fair? the suns are a high octane offense and the pistons/spurs are powerhouse defenses. if anything it's proof defense wins championships...

i pick detriot. pistons got more rings, have a better +/- difference btwn opp ppg/their ppg, and if the suns are stuck in a half court situation they are screwed.

for a team with no structure/can't work in half court sets GS are pretty good in being #2 in ppg...

I agree with you that I prefer Pistons/Spurs ball because it is a team oriented team, but Steve Nash is the man- actually without Steve Nash, I think the Suns are the worst team in the NBA.

but if you replace him with any starting pg in the nba (aside from a few exceptions) they'd still be good.

1. Suns outplayed the Spurs last year. They were freaking robbed. Had the officiating been fair/Amare and Duncan treated in a consistent basis with regards to suspensions, I think it is more likely than not the Suns would have beaten the spurs and taken the championship.

2. Suns were a severely underrated defensive team. Amare, Marion, Kurt Thomas, Raja Bell----they had improved to I believe 12th in the league in terms of defense. Sure they were pushing the ball, but they were also playing great tough D.

3. Nash is underrated as a defender. In the NBA, it is normal for a player to get by you as a point guard. The question is how do you fight back and get around the pick? How do you contest the shot/do you force the guard whose driving into taking a low percentage/off balance shot. I always heard so much about Nash's defense being terrible. I have not seen that play out in the many many games I've watched of him.

4. Is Nash a product of that system? Or is he one of the hardest working players in the NBA and a student of the game, who busted his balls and developed as a player. One of my favorite Nash quotes is "If everybody worked as hard as I did, I'd be out of a job." That man lives in the gym, stays in incredible shape and is always adding to his game.
