Portland went 2-1 against the Lakers last year. Two of the games were in LA and the loss came in overtime. Not bad for a team that lost 50 games.

Not that any of this is relevant though. The Blazers are a different team.

The Lakers are a different team. Much better. So what is your point?

Your boy charlie said he wasn't worried about Kobe when he is on. Clearly, you can't mess with Kobe when he is on. Blazers were up by 12 before Kobe hit four 3s in a row to tie the game. Then he finished the job in overtime.

Blazers are a good team, but to say they aren't worried about Bynum when he's basically destroyed some of the top tier centers in the league already and not worried about Kobe when he is on is kinda crazy :)

The blazers are young and streaky with different shooters getting hot(webster 24 pt quarter). If they make the playoff it will be against an elite wc team and they will lose. But in a hypothetical where they play a second tear wc team if they got hot they could win.

Considering that in the last three years when we have been horrible, we went .500 with the lakers I would say that yes I have enjoyed that matchup.

To answer your question directly though considering that it took an amazing shot (sorry scratch that) push off on roy for kobe to send the game to overtime. Not to mention odom bombing in on our huddle talking trash and somehow that ending up in a double tech.

In case you missed it at the 2:05 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_G-DW3YOYs I would say barely beating one of the worst teams in the league despite your best player going off for 65 while getting every call and having a bull crap double tech that should have won us the game is something you should be proud of. Ill say it again the lakers dont scare me.

wrong again. 1) That amazing shot happened in overtime and by the time he hit that amazing shot, the blazers had already given up. Kobe hit four threes in regulation to send it to overtime. 2) The double technical happened in a separate game and a double technical has no imapct on the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iREdsAiaBW0

At least make sure your facts are straight before you respond. And yes, you almost won, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The Lakers aren't nearly as bad as they were last year. So the emergence of Andrew Bynum + an on Kobe Bryant doesn't scare you? Brave stuff.

I can't wait til this season series starts. Last year Kobe and Lamar were trying to pick fights in OUR huddle. Nate Mac is going to pound that in their heads and Aldridge is going to be heated. Jack also. I'm more worried about Derek Fisher then Andrew Bynum.

My point is that last season's series, including the game you cite, have almost no bearing on what would happen if these teams met in the playoffs.

I'm having a harder time finding your point. Is it that the Lakers have some talented players? Nobody is arguing with that. But Bryant plus Bynum isn't automatically a win, as we've already seen eleven times this season.

You are right about that. I missed it. Regardless it was still an offensive foul which you dont deny, and it gave your team a lead under a minute late in the shot clock. But your right non calls in the final minute of a game have no effect. Also explain how we had given up, we were tied and the shot clock was at 4 with 47 seconds in the OT. Your right we should have just called it there since clearly we wernt going to get a fair shake from the officials.

2) The double technical happened in a separate game and a double technical has no imapct on the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iREdsAiaBW0

Actually it was in that game http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=270316013 theres the play by play at the end of the fourth, http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=638022&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=72 Heres the thread from our board where everyone complains about it. The reason its bull is because odom should have been the only one getting a tech there instead for some reason they call a double. Thus portland doesnt get one shot like it should have which would have resulted in us being up four instead of three.

At least make sure your facts are straight before you respond.

Same can be said for you, but Im sure your not going to admit it.

And yes, you almost won, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Actually close counts alot more than that. It doesnt matter that it took late game heroics and whistle swallowing for you to avoid a series sweep to one of the worst teams in the league last year?

The Lakers aren't nearly as bad as they were last year. So the emergence of Andrew Bynum + an on Kobe Bryant doesn't scare you? Brave stuff.

Same can be said for the Blazers. lakers have improved 0 games over last seasons record at this point. Blazers by 7. If anyone should be scared of a teams development it should be you with the emergence of B Roy and Aldridge. But I guess since we nearly swept you last year and have significantly improved should scare me. Oh wait still doesnt. We shall see though on feb.26, personally I cant wait.

If I were the Blazers, I'd be scared of the Lakers. Not because of Kobe or Bynum but because of Odom tackling one of the Blazers and injuring them.

Then you need to read better. My post didn't say anything about this year's Lakers' team beating this year's Blazer's team. I responded to Charlie when he said he wasn't afraid of Kobe when he is on. I then pointed a game where Kobe was ON against the Blazers.

You started posting irrelevant information by responding to a point I NEVER made. I never said the Lakers would beat the Blazers this season in a series. I said that it is silly to not be afraid of Kobe when he is on. Go back and re-read and tell me I'm not right.

Lets pick this thread up again in a month and see if the Blazers are still in the playoff hunt.

They have played as many or more home games than any team in the west and have far and away the worst road record of the top 8 out west.

Im not saying they will fall completely out of the picture, but lets see if they can win on the road, because they have a lot of road games coming up.

You sound like a genius!!!!

I really want to know what you have to say.

Forget the fact that atleast for today, we're 1st in our division, and 2 games back of the top spot in the entire western conference.

they good enough to hang with any of those team, and possibly beat 'em a couple of games.. but they still lack the experience to go against the big boys of the west..

Enough of this nonsense, the blazers have no chance in hell of beating the Lakers. That simple..

how about we wait till the blazers and lakers play each other and than we will see who is the better team, i think that portland and LA are two of the top 4 teams in the west, they both play great team basketball and have a leader who can control the game down the stretch. they have great coaching and are proving this year that both teams can stick with anyone in the league. i personally feel the lakers will go far in the playoffs (even though they are the devil and kobe can burn in hell) because kobe finally learning that he cant do it all by himself. the blazers are the ultimate TEAM, we dont have a superstar, not yet anyway, and they have better depth than majority of teams in the league.
if u ask me i say whoever has homecourt advantage in the playoff series between portland and lakers would win the series, simple as that.
