I figure with Martin, they could still cut him and make him an asst coach. Only now his salary is already being paid.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

I don't see what's so bad about keeping Martin past this deadline. We can just cut him whenever a 3rd PG becomes available but MLSE will be on the hook for the remainder of his minimal salary, right? What's so bad about that? Not like it's going to put us at the luxury tax or anything. Why do we care if MLSE eats the remaining $150,000 or whatever's left on Martin's contract.

Hes getting paid 1 million to wear a suit every game. Though he does have a big leadership role on the team.

martin is a washed up player, who never averaged more than 15 min a game in his career, he preaches all these "leadership" information, yet he never follows it on his own....all he does on the court is just jack up shots...waive the geezer

If the decision is to have Juan Dixon backing Jose up for the meantime, then why is Martin still taking up a roster spot? Give him some sort of job title with the team instead of being listed as a player wearing a suit taking up a roster spot.

This just further proves my theory. Dmart has serious dirt on BC, so he has to stay on this team until his fat ass decides working at Krispy Kreme beats sitting on an NBA bench for a million bucks a year :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Seriously though, this could mean that TJ is ready to return to the floor in the immediate future. If BC had a gut feeling that he would be out for extended time there's no doubt in my mind that Dmart would have been cut. I hope we can see TJ back on the floor before the ASG. I know its a push but it would be a great belated christmas gift to see him on the floor soon again.

If this means TJ will be back, then fine. At the end of the day, there are enough players on this roster to be able to win consistently. Reminds me of the old VC days, but instead of being a .500 team in those years, we were bottom dwellers.

Yup. Thank god I didn't lay any money on it. I was sure D-Mart was as good as gone.

"who never averaged more than 15 min a game in his career"

wow, pure ignorance

"all he does on the court is just jack up shots..."

I would hardly call 3 shots a game jacking up shots
