Actually Utah let him out of his contract, thinking that he would sign with a team back east, since his daughter was receiving, and still receives, the majority of her cancer treatment in NEW YORK, not LA. I guess LA is closer to NY than SLC.
Anyhoo...I think that Grant Hill was a great veteran pickup for Phoenix.
But I think Jason Hart has done more for the Jazz than any of the other free agents have done for their teams.

Lakers started out great last year because something like 17 of their first 24 games were at Home... This year they have duplicated their record while having one of the toughest schedules in the league... Derek Fisher and Andrew Bynum are the reasons why we are a better team this year

Out of the top 8 teams in the Western Conference, the Lakers have had the toughest schedule. And they still have a great record to show for it. January is a cake walk, so they're going to turn even more heads by the end of this month as they pad their record. The real test comes in February, when they play I believe only 4 home games in the entire month.

What his his shooting %? FT%? Assists per game? TO's? Defense?
OH, AND LEADERSHIP?
The real question is, what do YOU mean?

Did you even watch the Lakers over the last 2 years? Do you only look at stats? Smush **** Parker was the worst starting PG in the entire league. Houston fans will argue that Rafer was the worst...but whatever. Worst or 2nd worst, take your pick. Smush **** Parker got those points largely UNCONTESTED. And he was a revolving door on the defensive end.
Smush **** Parker was the worst starting point guard in the history of the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers, and arguably in the history of the NBA.

<sarcasm> In light of that nugget of information I vote for the Miami Heat as making the best FA pickup of the year. Hell, they underpaid for those guaranteed 11ppg. </sarcasm>
"Caution: Objects around Kobe are worse than they actually appear"
They should put that disclaimer on all the archived scouting footage of the Lakers so that other GM's aren't misled when throwing out contracts to Laker backcourt free-agents.

So you're admitting to not having seen him play at the back end of last season?
Let's put it this way; I wouldn't want Smush on the team even if I received payment to watch him play.
When neither Phil Jackson nor Pat Riley wants anything more to do with you as a player, you know you're pretty much done. But hey, he averaged 11 ppg once. Never mind that 2 of the 3 greatest coaches of all time wants no part of him.

Larry Brown called him "a turnover waiting to happen".

I go with Fisher or Posey. Fisher has offered leadership and some good shooting, and Posey leadership, shooting and a defensive focus that mirrors KG's.
Grant Hill is good, but Phoenix is worse than last year. I don't blame him, but when the team you come to gets worse, you're clearly not making that much of a difference.
