WOW. Now here's the million-dollar question: is this Diaw's equivalent of Banks' 3-point explosion?

its all up to diaw while banks case is up to diantoni. banks need consistent playing minute and he's getting it now. so lets wait and see..

I do believe this is the first game I've seen where Diaw & Amare were both really good. I know I already gave him props, but Diaw was tremendous. I expect that kind of game out of Amare, but I had pretty much given up on Diaw, and tonight we saw the 05-06 Diaw playing alongside Amare. Sweet!

I want to believe that both of them can do this consistently so very badly.

Banks was pretty decent tonight, from what I saw of him. I ragged on him as much as anyone, but I have to say, he's contributing to this team right now. He had some really nice drives tonight, and while he still could use some improvement on his finishing, he did a good job of drawing contact & getting to the free throw line. Didn't think his D was all that great, though.

Wouldn't that be amazing? I'd spell that C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S-H-I-P. Diaw was a stud tonight. Going to the rim, posting up well (except against Villanueva in the 1st half -- thankfully, he starting driving on CV in the 2nd half), distributing the ball, getting offensive boards :o ... I'm so very pleased. What a fun game to watch!

The thing is, most people wanted to (or at least were willing to) trade Boris because he's been underperforming this season. Because his value has been so low it's been tough to find a taker.

However if he does continue to play well, then his value will obviously rise to the point where you would think there would be interest in him. By that point though, will anyone still be wanting to trade him..?

well, i was at a bar watching the nfl games so i completely missed this game. and damnit, i'm pissed that i missed it. from looking at the box score it looks like diaw finally found his nuts. great games from nash and amare too. 21-25 from the line is a stat i like to see. AND we won the rebounding!

how the hell did bogut score so much on us though? we really need to work on big man defense.

i will have to find a way to watch this game...looks like it was fun to watch.

amare played soft defense and stayed out of foul trouble (3 fouls). i'd argue that's how bogut was able to go off.

Bogut's quality. if he was in a good team he could have these games more often than not.

That's long been the thing about the Nash-era Suns: when performing on all cylinders, they're basically unstoppable.

When they're firing on all cylinders.

I give Mike credit for sticking with Banks as he said he would. Banks committed a couple of dumb plays but overall didn't hurt things too much and I am happy that he wasn't yanked out of the game for good.

This is the Boris we want every game. We don't need big numbers from him, just give us about 10/5/5 per about 30 solid minutes and I'd a happy fan. When he with Amare and Shawn can rebound the ball like that, we'd be a much better team. We know this game isn't a fluke, he can do that. I think Boris even plays at 80% of what he did tonight and the championship is ours. Seriously, if he can keep playing at this level as a starter, I would be in favor of Hill coming off the bench. I think Hill would be in favor of that too! Let see if Boris can earn it. THANK YOU BORIS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT UP!

Amare is very efficient tonight, team went away from him in the 3rd but I'm not mad. We got plays run through Boris, as long as we're playing inside-out, I'm not complaining. Just one negative: Andrew Bogut 29 points 14-06 shooting. Yikes.

Shawn is hurt. He wasn't really even using his arm normally on D. I hope he's ok. We need him.

With Nash back I think we should have rested Marion. He seemed to tell journo's that he was good to go a day before the game but I think we need to be able to say just rest up until your 100%.

Here's the article:

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... pdate.html

Prior to reading that Diaw had back spasms I was sure he should come off the bench. After todays game it def seems like it's worth persisting with this combo. Very rare to see Diaw *and* Amare having such good games. Nothing would be better then seeing these 2 continue to play well. Consistencies the key tho. If they revert back to their usual form together this game means very little in the scope of things.

I *was* expecting Diaw to have a monster game. I just couldn't believe that his jumpshot just deserted him that badly and I thought teams would eventually stop doubling him when he had a mismatch purely because Diaw hasn't been scoring big numbers but the opposition knew he would always make the right pass out of the post.

Good to see him punishing them. I just hope this continues. Not sure what we were doing on defense but our D in general has been atrocious lately. D'Antoni usually makes an adjustment but that only takes us to a little above atrocious. Def an area that we need to improve on. I think now that we are slowly integrating all our players into the offense, hopefully we can start concentrating a bit on not giving big men wide open lay-ups/dunks.

Great game, but Amare's D is just....wow. Bogut took him to school on those post-ups.

Don't worry. If this game was a fluke and Diaw starts to play badly again, the Bucks will still be willing to trade for him. Our front office has a habit of going after guys who have big games against us (like Villanueva after he scored 48 against us). They'll just look at his size and assume Boris can play SF.

I don't think we make good trade partners though.

It's tough to play defense when everytime you try to, some ref calls some bull foul on you.

are you really surprised that Bogut had a career game? Amare is not a good defender. I dont know if he ever will be but as of right now he is not that good.

Can anyone who saw the game tell me how Amare and Boris were functioning together? They've had so much trouble operating together (as they play in a similar spot), and I'm really curious what changed.

long story short diaw became the focal point in the post while amare played up high

i was actually a little disappointed in that we ran more plays for diaw in the post than we have for amare all season

but i justify that to myself i guess by saying diaw in the post is a playmaking option, amare is a scoring option, so going to diaw was to set up the play and he did find amare many times

diaw played awesome

That was Diaw's best game in a long long time. I just think that he just had the right balance of passing and shooting.
