Why is Ben Wallace setting a screen for Gordon...every single time they run that high pick an roll they double Gordon. Gordon got doubled on every play practically. He has to work twice as hard to get a shot up.
I think teams understand that if you double Gordon the Bulls can't score consistently enough to win games.

This is a fair question and an oft-discussed point on this board, but I think it bears mentioning that teams have been throwing a double at Gordon all season long whether there is a pick or not.
Why? Because Gordon can't handle them for ****.

Yup double Gordon is the other teams main concern. They say let's Stop Gordon and we'll worry about Deng later he's not that big of a threat. This team need more scorers surrounding Gordon and Deng.

Bingo. And yet we continue to do it. There's no reason to go back on Wallace he's not doing anything. Double on the best scorer on the team and force a turnover.
This team is in dying need of a scoring 4/5 more than ever. If that's Gasol or Brand or someone setting the pick, then we accomplish so much.

There was an exchange during the game (3rd quarter) where Gordon had the ball on two straight possessions. The first had Smith set a pick. Gordon got doubled and barely passed out, but Smith hit the open jumper. The very next possession, Wallace set the pick. Gordon got doubled and jacked up a bad shot in desperation.
Its not even Ben Wallace's fault. Its pretty conclusive that Joe Smith setting picks is a good idea and Wallace doing it is not. The coaching staff is just hanging the players out to dry when they have Wallace set a pick over Smith.

A starting lineup of this does not help the bulls at all this lineup is offensively and challenged.
PG: Duhon
SG: Hinrich
SF: Nocioni
PF: Smith
C: Wallace
Last two games
1st qtr Bulls: 22 pts Hawks: 38 pts
1st qtr In Philly- Bulls: 14 Sixers: 27 pts
When our bench(Gordon and crew) come in they don't have a chance because their down by so much. We clearly need a new line up.
Chris Duhon:
As a starter:
26.5 mpg/ 22 fg%/19% 3p/ 41% FT/ 4.4 apg/ 4 ppg
As a bench player:
21.5 mpg/ 42 fg%/ 39% 3p/ 84 % FT/3.5 apg/ 6 ppg
Awful by Duhon
Ben Wallace: last 10 gms
Wallace is averaging 36.8 mpg and is only getting 9.5 rpg and averaging 4.4 pts.
It's about time to make some switches.

I'm willing to bet even if you replace Wallace with Gasol, Ben Gordon would see doubles consistenly. Why? Because he doesn't make good decisions when a double comes. More often than not he picks up his dribble when the double traps him in a corner or he dribbles off his foot at the top of the arc trying to get away from the double. Gordon has shown he can pass on those rare occasions that he breaks down the D and gets in the lane....but he hasn't consistently made passes out of doubles. Even if he where to give it to wallace and make a hard cut to get the ball back things would be better. But he doesn't he usually tries to dribble his way out (bad things happen) or picks up the ball (more bad things happen).
