That's what I've been pointing out to people. Zeke has been able to make us significantly younger, and more talented, but he had to do it in a 'surreptitious' manner. We still had some big names to (supposedly) sell seats. But at the same time, we've become a lot younger. I still feel that's the only way we're getting out of this mess, through the draft. I seriously doubt we can trade for our franchise player, and I doubt even more that we can sign this franchise player. We're gonna' have to draft him. It's a shame that the mix is all wrong, and that few of the parts fit. Because I still feel that Zeke is one of the few who could have brought us out of this mess. It has to be someone with a good eye for young talent (and that's why I didn't think Kiki would work for us).
I agree with most of your points mjhp.
The only part where I disagree is the idea that Zeke can bring us out of this. I think he's proven that he can't construct a roster, make reasonable FA acquisitions, etc. etc. Also I think his eye for young talent is overrated.
But I think the key point of agreement is that we need to find our next franchise player through the draft. Let's just hope we still have our pick by the time the trade deadline comes to a close!
