Ramon Sessions really struggled with the way he played today. On the offensive end, he was content with pounding the ball into the floor for the majority of the shot-clock rather than creating ball movement in the Tulsa offensive sets. This led the rookie into a number of difficult low-percentage shots off the dribble. From behind the 3-point line, he shows good vision and solid play-making ability, but he lacks the same vision on his drives to the basket

He's had some real good games this season, here are some of them:
28 points, 13 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals
16 points, 18 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals
15 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds
various other games with 15-20 points, and 6-8 rebounds and assists
In 14 of 20 games he's had 5 or more assists and in 15 of 20 games has had 5 or more rebounds

It shouldn't be a foregone conclusion that "at some point he needs to get up here and play." In truth, he might never be deserving of NBA court time.
First, he needs to distinguish himself from his fellow D-Leaguers and show more than spotty evidence that he can outplay the guys ahead of him on the depth chart. Right now, the D-League is the best place for him. I like Ramon, but he's not better than Bell, Ivey, Mo or Redd, and he's the only one of them who's eligible for the D-League. It's mutually beneficial to keep him gaining game experience there.

We have a team going nowhere. We have two very expensive guards. I'd love to see what he can, and can't do, at the NBA level. He may be a bust but what the hell do we have to lose right now.

He doesn't deserve any playing time at this point.
We are still technically in this thing, until it gets to the point where we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, I don't expect him on the roster.
If we are completely out of it, give him some burn in the last 10 games or so.

I agree with all this but MD has a point that very soon we'll officially be at the point where the season is lost so we might as well see what he can do. I'd be fine with trading Mo and bringing up Sessions in a reserve role and see what he can do in the second half of the season. He's clearly raw but his skill set remains damn intriguing in my opinion.
Nothing will not break me.

Neither do Gadz or Simmons, but they get to play.

What difference does it make if we're in the playoff hunt or not? The idea is to get him up so he can learn the offense and to play with his teammates.
I'm hoping Ramon Sessions has more long term value to us than Royal Ivey does.
Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Mo Williams traded, which would require Ramon to play and play well.
Mo Williams + Bobby Simmons for Ron Artest and Kenny Thomas.

i was saying this same thing a couple weeks ago, but mo williams is playing outstanding. We need to keep mo, bogut, and yi
get rid of redd for a SF, then put mo at SG and let ivey and sessions get time at PG with bell switching off between SG and PG

One scout's view can be skewed.
Perhaps Ramon he is playing with bad players wo don't move to get open...
It can be many things...I want more then one opinion. I wish I could go see him myself.
I can come back with a better assessment on whether he would be better then Mo and complement Ivey.
From what I've seen, Sessions has the potential to be a more talented Charlie Bell (better natural point guard skills, same streaky shooting, and good defense). So, he would complement Ivey well (as does Bell), and would thus be better for this team then Mo Williams (who only complements anyone well, on this team, at the scoring guard position). If we moved Mo Williams, we would still have Bell as an inexpensive utility man, in the event that Sessions passes him on the depth chart. I have faith in Ivey as being the right guy for a Redd, Yi, and Bogut led team.

Am I the only one who thinks the D-League is counter-productive for some players? It's no secret that the league is dominated by guard play, many of whom score 20+ points per game. For a point guard, I'd much rather have him learning the system and playing with his real teammates in practice than playing in a different system in a league who's culture is dominated by guards who try to do too much. It seems like a breeding ground for bad habits. I say this realizing that the D-League has been very good for some players and there are definitely success stories. I'm just saying that, in this case, it seems like Sessions is turning into a different type of player than we hoped he would be solely based on how games are typically played in that league.
