Deflecting blame could prove costly for VincentAre players on verge of tuning out Bobcats' coach?

LINKLOS ANGELES --There's an ancient Chinese curse that, roughly translated, means "May you live in interesting times."
I live in interesting times.
It's not boring covering the Charlotte Bobcats these days. It's occasionally tense, often odd and sometimes amusing.
The rookie coach, Sam Vincent, is capable of saying just about anything after a loss. It started after a December game in Toronto, when they played somewhat below their standards. Vincent speculated that his players must be lax in getting their sleep and eating right.
When I asked various players about that, several looked stunned, particularly Raymond Felton. Felton isn't the quintessential NBA point guard, but certainly he's professional. He seemed shaken and disappointed that Vincent would assume that about his players' preparation.
Hmmm so this has been a pattern of pissing off the players. Now normally I don't have a problem with what he's saying, but Shiny has absolutely no credibility. He thinks he's Pat Riley or Phil Jackson. I mean, those 2 call out their players in the media all the time but they've won, and players respect that.
At this point, if Shiny wants to coach here beyond this season, he needs to do a better job of coaching and realize we're undermanned. And save the critical comments for during practice...or at least after you've coached your way into the playoffs.
Horrible choice for a head coach. Not saying he isn't going too be good one day, but for our situation, guys like Okafor, Raymond, and Crash, could have used someone with a lot more experience. If MJ had a big hard on for this guy, then he should have hired someone like Larry Brown and asked LB to put Shiny on his staff in an apprentice role.
Sorry Bowens, you can't post entire articles, only snippets and if you do, please also post the link to the article. - Slam
