LMAO at how uneducated you are. Economic Principles exist in EVERY MARKET. There a relative values placed on players...there are supply and demands. If you can't acknowledge this then there's no point even retorting back with you any further. I'll just let it go, but the fact is, Gasol moving increases the value of other stars, like I CLEARLY explained.
Smills is right. The West is buzzing right now. It's an 11 team race for eight spots. The Spurs and Nuggets are out of the playoff picture right now, and the Hornets, Blazers and Lakers are playing WAY better than expected.
I bet this has a ripple effect. Watch the Mavs go get Kidd, and watch the Nuggets go pull something.
Every front office in the West that wants to even make the playoffs this year is flipping out. They have to do something to compete with the Suns, Spurs, Lakers... Memphis might firesale... who knows?
But Gasol coming off the market - I bet the Bulls just got a lot more desperate, and any competitive team in the West, too. So, Gasol did set a low standard, but now other teams have to try and match the Lakers' coup.
Plenty of names floating out there... You'll probably see lots of swapping in the West.
