unless we trade arroyo, pat, dooling + draft picks for Wade.
Only then will it be a rival to the Pau trade.
This is a good trade, for Miami. Not so much for the Suns.
A good trade nonetheless. Shaq, baring injuries, is still one of the best players in the league. I also don't rate Marion that high. Shaq has still 3 seasons left on his contract, while Miami will benefit from the fact that Marion's contract is expiring next year. I don't think both will benefit too much from this, Miami should have just tanked this season. But other then that it'll make Miami a better team. If Shaq can stay away from injuries, they might be a bit better but honestly, it's not a good trade for the Suns, Amare + Shaq, not really a match made in heaven, neither have an outside J, how is that going to work ? Ah well.
Amare's got a jumper.
He didn't have it coming in, but he developed one -- probably about the time his knee was a big issue.
I think they'll fit together fine.
I'd expect Phoenix to pick and choose on the fast break a little bit more having Shaq on board (think Spurs and Duncan), rather than the automatic run, run, run.

Still i dont know that i like teams helping out the Heat.
Wasn't there a wiretap article just yesterday about him getting an MRI for his hip?
Can the Suns waive the need for a physical? Or accept him regradless?

Yeah, they can just waive it if they like. I'm failing to draw a specific example, but it's been done in the past.

because they dont just happen every day...
they happen every week...haha
but seriously...they dont, and we're depleted in areas, my feeling is that Otis is scared of us getting rid of bodies...if we trade 4 for 1 and something happens, or we start wearing thin in the playoffs, it takes it's toll real fast...
taking on Gasol would have been awesome, but could you imagine not having Dooling/Arroyo/PG/Redick and future draft picks? we'd have no guard Depth to speak of...
rock and a hard place my freng...

Wasnt Curry one of those. Aslo if having hack physicians count as a waiver then you have to include Grant Hill

I don't mind having to see Marion play 4 times against us b/c I love his game- in fact he would be great for us b/c he plays defense like it should be played, rebounds well, and could spread the floor for dwight with his 3 pt capability(his shot is ugly as heel tho)
I hate seeing Miami get better but honestly they need a few more trades to put them in to contention
they may just not be total bottom feeders now

you know whats funny.. i traded maroin for wade straight up...so the trade would be fair for both of us..bc they both would dominate.

This trade actually falls in Phoenix's favor, IMO.
They've been trying to get rid of Banks for a while.
Marion was 90% certain to opt out this summer.
They get back Shaq who will be a perfect asset come playoff time as that will have Amare slide over to PF.
Miami still needs a great big man and a PG to become a contender. Until then, they're just athletic with 3 great players who all need to play well in a game to produce the W.

Shaq needs to lose weight and get in shape and he'd still be a nice asset. Ewing played till 40 with decent numbers cause he was in shape. With him lumbering around all that weight you knew he'd break down fast. So if he wants to save his career he better lose weight and it would be a good deal for the Suns as Marion is gone next year anyway.
