Would Wally be a good fit?

The biggest reason behind trading for Wally should be that next year his contract holds value of Theo Ratliff proportions.
Roy's the best player I've played against outside this guy from my hood in Queensbridge, guy named Mike Chaplain. He went to jail when he was 15 years old. He was the best player I played against, now it's Brandon Roy.

lol, I don't get how it would be anything but a sideways move that would leave us with $10+ mill in cap space in 2009/10. Trading for Wally wouldn't be as horrible as you suggest. If the added cap space allows up to sign a solid starter, we clearly win the trade. Not like Kapono and Garbo are doing much for us right now. Garbo was GREAT for us last season, but we added too many players that make him not neccessary anymore.

If the rumours about his attitude are even remotely true, I just don't want him near the team, cap space be damned.

AFter playing for Boston and Seattle, I'm guessing he'd welcome any winning environment. But yeah, def. wouldn't be thrilled about adding him either. But making a trade for him sound like a huge mistake is just silly. He wouldn't make much of a difference either way, and his contract could be a positive if dealt for kapono and others

If he's dealt FOR Kapono, then possibly. Having Rasho and Szczczcz coming off the books in the same offseason might be a huge bonus.
I doubt Seattle is looking to take on long term contracts though, a la Kapono.
