Not to derail this because I know that shooting practice and game situations are totally independent of one another, but I can't help but wonder why Sam and the staff can't set this guy up for at least 15 points a night.

I wish we'd use him more like a weapon, I really do.

Because Sam's too busy pimpin' to see the talent Kapono has. He didn't even look ONCE in the video!

maybe this guy can practice some more, and do something productive in games as well. He is a bust (as a free agent). Shooting some 3's and not doing anything is really disappointing. I would have personally signed Morris Peterson or someone over Kapono. (James Posey).

Well Kapono did say when he won the contest last year that he was hitting 25 straight on a consistent basis in practice. It's not really surprising, but to actually see him do it instead of reading about it is pretty amazing.

A LOT of guys in the L can shoot lights out when they are on the practice floor and in repetition form... even scrub players.

I remember years ago one of my buddies told me he got to practice with Shawn Respert (.340 career 3pt shooter) and how Respert could drop 15-20 straight 3's like it was nothing.

DeShawn Stevenson went like 70/100 in the battle with Gilbert... DeShawn fri66in Stevenson.
Not trying to take anything away from Kapono, just saying that its not all that surprising that he would go 24/25.

While the common belief is that having TJ back will help Kapono- and I'm sure it will- I think a major part of his problem this season has been the Raptors' overall pick-setting abilities. Bargnani and Humphries in particular aren't very good at opening up a passing lane to another player by setting the right pick on the right guy(s) at the right time.

I also think a lot of the early-season was spent spacing Kapono off Bosh when in reality that was only the tip of the iceberg because he had to learn to space himself off of the PGs and then off of guys like Parker and Bargnani who don't really move to much most of the time after finding their comfort shooting zone on a possession.

With time I think JK will slowly start helping the team more. Garbajosa really would have helped him quite a bit with regards to both picks and spacing, too, but sadly he's gone for the season.

Read my other post - this is not comparing the 2 in the slightest.

When I type "Deshawn fri66in Stevenson" I am indicating that I think Deshawn is a scrub. As was Respert. The point is that if a scrub can go 70/100, or knock down 15-20 straight, then it should not be the least bit surprising that a deadeye in Kapono can go 24/25.

Thoose of you sooo in aww about seeing this clip and think that JK's 24/25 (as good as it is) is sooo uncommon truly underestimate just how talented these guys in the L really are.

That was an awesome display of shooting. Watching Kapono's release was amazing. His shot is so smooth.

On a side note, it's funny how Smitch kind of "hijacks" the video for a bit. All I could do was focus on what he was saying instead of watching Kapono shoot lol.

The absolutely perfect repetition was incredible. When that first ball bounced out, I was actually surprised. He doesn't look like he should miss ever.

I wish he'd hit more shots for us.
