Because Sam's too busy pimpin' to see the talent Kapono has. He didn't even look ONCE in the video!

Well Kapono did say when he won the contest last year that he was hitting 25 straight on a consistent basis in practice. It's not really surprising, but to actually see him do it instead of reading about it is pretty amazing.

A LOT of guys in the L can shoot lights out when they are on the practice floor and in repetition form... even scrub players.

I remember years ago one of my buddies told me he got to practice with Shawn Respert (.340 career 3pt shooter) and how Respert could drop 15-20 straight 3's like it was nothing.

DeShawn Stevenson went like 70/100 in the battle with Gilbert... DeShawn fri66in Stevenson.
Not trying to take anything away from Kapono, just saying that its not all that surprising that he would go 24/25.

uhhh... 24/25 is 96/100

70/100 is **** off the bottom of my shoe compared to 96%

Actually he got 29 out of a possible 30 points. The last ball in each rack are worth 2. So... you're both wrong

I don't know about you, but Kapono at 96% shooting compared to DeShawn's 70% is nothing to compare about. Kapono >>> DeShawn

While the common belief is that having TJ back will help Kapono- and I'm sure it will- I think a major part of his problem this season has been the Raptors' overall pick-setting abilities. Bargnani and Humphries in particular aren't very good at opening up a passing lane to another player by setting the right pick on the right guy(s) at the right time.

I also think a lot of the early-season was spent spacing Kapono off Bosh when in reality that was only the tip of the iceberg because he had to learn to space himself off of the PGs and then off of guys like Parker and Bargnani who don't really move to much most of the time after finding their comfort shooting zone on a possession.

With time I think JK will slowly start helping the team more. Garbajosa really would have helped him quite a bit with regards to both picks and spacing, too, but sadly he's gone for the season.

Read my other post - this is not comparing the 2 in the slightest.

When I type "Deshawn fri66in Stevenson" I am indicating that I think Deshawn is a scrub. As was Respert. The point is that if a scrub can go 70/100, or knock down 15-20 straight, then it should not be the least bit surprising that a deadeye in Kapono can go 24/25.

Thoose of you sooo in aww about seeing this clip and think that JK's 24/25 (as good as it is) is sooo uncommon truly underestimate just how talented these guys in the L really are.

The best parts of the video:

Parker screaming: "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!"

Smitch laying the mack down: "Who goin though? Whose goin?"

Jose acting like a school girl around Bosh.

Dixon standing with arms crossed thinking: "I could do that"

And finally, Triano always hustling!

It's time for Richard Hamilton to put his game where his mouth is.After campaigning for a spot in All-Star Weekend's Three-Point Shootout, the NBA granted Hamilton's wish on Wednesday, putting him into the contest alongside previous winners Jason Kapono and Peja Stojakovic as well Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, and Suns guard Steve Nash.

One competitor in particular had Hamilton excited Wednesday."The greatest thing about it is they put Kobe in the three-point contest," said Hamilton, who has been a rival of Bryant's since their high school days in Philadelphia. "And he can't shoot better than me. He's never beat me in a shoot-out ever."His teammates don't seem so sure. They wonder whether Hamilton can make shots anywhere besides his favorite spots in the corners.Hamilton ranked sixth in percentage with 46.7% (43 of 92) before Tuesday. Pistons guard Chauncey Billups entered the contest twice, finishing last each time, but he said he's predicting Hamilton as the winner.

"Now that he's in, I'm rolling with him," Billups said. "We're going to the top, baby." Pistons forward Jarvis Hayes said the team brought in some extra ball racks to help Hamilton begin preparing for the contest, which is played during All-Star Saturday night's festivities. Forward Rasheed Wallace, though, said he'd hypothetically root for Orlando center Adonal Foyle before Hamilton. "(Wallace) thinks if he (Hamilton) wins that'll be bad for us," coach Flip Saunders said, "because then he'll want to shoot threes all the time."Hamilton hears his teammates' comments and uses them as motivation."Exactly," Hamilton said. "I've got a lot of haters out there in this locker room and outside this locker room. But it ain't nothing new."

That was an awesome display of shooting. Watching Kapono's release was amazing. His shot is so smooth.

On a side note, it's funny how Smitch kind of "hijacks" the video for a bit. All I could do was focus on what he was saying instead of watching Kapono shoot lol.

That dude can flat out shoot.

The absolutely perfect repetition was incredible. When that first ball bounced out, I was actually surprised. He doesn't look like he should miss ever.

I wish he'd hit more shots for us.
