The reason we don't do this is because we don't want to take back lesser parts for Kirilenko (and the Joey Graham substitution just "so Toronto can have cap flexibility" is completely laughable).
Got out of his contract? You traded him for a guy drafted 6 spots higher in the same draft; unless that is going from the first round to the second, that is never getting out of a contract.
I'm not trying to say Toronto fleeced you, but that excuse makes absolutely no sense.
