With the current NBA collective bargaining agreement, LeBron can't possibly sign for $20M per year. The next contract he signs will probably average out at about 15.
how is lewis averaging 20? pretty sure I read that on here. Lebron will be signing a long contract, as long as he wants it. It's gotta avg over 15 imo
but even if not, then switch 20 for 15. Or whatever. Same difference. He's going to have a huge salary for the next decade or so. Salary that could be paying another allstar or two
Prime FAs? Really? As Fairview4Life mentioned, the Cavs would still be over the cap. Right now, as a capped-out team, the Cavs have $5M to spend on a FA. If LeBron took a pay cut, the Cavs would still be over the cap, and would have... wait for it... $5M to spend on a FA. See how the figure does not change at all?
thats nice. Then wait an extra year or two.
This isn't the riddle of the sphinx here. A guy making league minimum instead of maximum, for the next decade or so, would give his team a monumental boost
Maybe you'll listen to me instead but I doubt you will. Point is, the problems that team faces are not LeBron's fault. Those problems are in spite of him making $13M per year, not because of it.
thats still a point that has nothing to do with anything I said. Or was trying to say anyways
lol, I think I must be missing the argument, because this doesn't seem like something anyone would argue over. Ever. Was it the phrase 'pay cut'? which makes it seem like I meant only this season? or next? I meant from now on he takes a mil, or league minimum (and probably makes the money back in the end, plus some, from extra endorsements after winning a bunch of championships)
