Flawed logic. Without Rashard, Hedo goes back to being He-don't. And with decent pg play, he doesn't become a point forward for us either. Thats why that made up position doesn't get utilized very much. There is no way that Hedo is a max player. I love the way he's been playing this year, but lets be real about it.
As far as trading Hedo for AK, its a lateral move. There is no reason to trade a sf that is working in Stan's offense for another sf that may or may not work out for us. If we were talking about a big time pf, sg, or pg, then I would be ok with moving Hedo, but not for another player playing the same position.
I don't know that I agree with a Hedo for Ak trade, but you're inaccurate in saying AK is strictly a 3. He had his best seasons in Utah playing PF, and he plays there in international competition. He's a natural 4 with his length, but Memo and Boozer are also natural 4s, and AK is the only one with the quickness to even pretend to be a 3.
A move of Hedo for AK would be offense for defense. Whether that's worth it or not, is entirely based on one's opinion, but there would be a noticeable defensive upgrade to the team, both with AK's defense, and the benefit of moving Shard back to the three.
