Why the heck are we giving George playing time?
I don't understand why we continue to start George and give him alot of minutes after the just screwed us. And I am sorry but I don't buy this B.S. about his Bird rights. Bird rights are extremely unlikely to help freaking Devin George. He is not going to get even close to the MLE from any team so it is not like some team is going to pay him like 8 mil and he needs the Bird rights for that team to go over the salary cap.
Any team can use some portion of thier MLE to sign him and his Bird rights have nothing to do with it.
I would sit his butt down and not give him any minutes regardless of who is hurt. Why reward him for screwing the team with this ridiculous idea that Bird rights is going to help him next year.

I have no problem with Devin starting, as he's one of our best subs, and it's not like we're healthy. We need our best talent on the floor and Devin is one behind our regular starters.
There is something called a players union and understanding by his fellow teammates. While you think Devin screwed us, many are starting to think Jerry Stackhouse has by opening his mouth too early, and there needed to be a backup plan knowing that Devin could decline the trade.

The one game we won in the last 4 was in spite of Devin George not because of him. He went 0-11 in the one game during that stretch that we won.
And Stackhouse is a dumb-ass for opening his trap. And I have no doubt that the league (who hates Mark Cuban) will again try to screw the Mavs by saying that he can not resign with the Mavs should a deal go down. However with that said, a player who is released should be free to sign with any team that they want and if Stackhouse would like to return to the Mavs I am not sure what is wrong with saying it. It is only wrong if there was some prearranged deal. I hope there is no evidence of that.

George is doing Avery's dirty work in killing this deal. There is no basketball reason to play George these heavy minutes and leave Hassell on the bench. He is obviously being shown that he will get playing time here and there is no need to go to New Jersey.
Seriously, if Avery wanted this deal, George would have been glued to the bench.

I don't think there is any doubt that Avery wants this deal. There's been times when Mavs insiders whisper that he's not overly fond of Devin. I think he'd love to have kidd leading the team. he wants someone he can trust and could trust Kidd.

Why did George get the minutes and not Hassell?

Thank you! George is better than both Jones and Hassell. That's why he is playing. This has nothing to do with the trade.

No it's not.
Jerry made those comments before Deveon blocked the trade. If the trade went though, withing that 30 day span, Stern would have rulled him ineligible to return to the Mavs for the same comments. Meaning he would have signed with San Antonio, Boston, Pheonix, Cleveland, Detoit or some other playoff contending team. George had nothing to do with the Stack situation whatsoever.
