Worst article ever

Post#1 » by Cigamodnalro » Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:43 am

http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/10648675/1

But seriously, let's all calm down about his voracious dunks during Saturday's dunk competition. He's freaking 7 feet. He should win. That's like giving Gary Coleman props for being short.

Howard can't hold Spud Webb's jock.

Besides, if you put a slice of pepperoni pizza and some chicken wings on the rim instead of a cupcake, Shaq would have won the dunk contest.

Overall, the dunk contest now sucks.

It's come down to props like cupcakes. The dunk contest doesn't excite me; it makes me hungry. What's next? Emeril cooks an omelet while someone jams?

What an embarrassing article.

If there was one person on Earth that needed to die, it's the author of that article.

Wish I could slice open everything on his body that makes babies and soak it in lighter fluid before using it to start the coals for a nice steak.

Gave me idea to get Eddy Curry in for the dunk contest next season with a lot of Big Macs.

I used to like his articles when he wrote for the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville...

but wow

-He acts like Dwight or Gerald or Rudy or Jamario AREN'T athletic

-Creativity and showmanship have always been a part of the dunk contest, it's not just athletic ability like he claims.

-Why should 7 footers automatically be assumed to win a dunk contest? By my count, there have been more dunk contest winners under 6 feet tall than there have been 7 foot champions... it's harder for the big man to look amazing since he's so big. And Dwight definitely amazed tonight.

Wow.

That's a paid professional writer? Oh, the irony...

He's freaking 7 feet. He should win. That's like giving Gary Coleman props for being short.

When you see that kind of talent and then see the scrubs in this dunk competition, well, it's like going from Halle Berry to Grace Jones.

Brilliant similes, Mike.

No, the dunk contest isn't all bad (and it still blows away baseballs home run derby). When Howard put on a Superman outfit complete with cape, well, that was kinda' funny.

Even with his big 7-foot ass.

Seriously? On CBS? I mean HoopsHype, yeah, but CBS?

The dunk contest has become high on gimmicks and low on athleticism.

Low on athleticism? Is this a joke?

The best dunk of the night was when Green put the ball through his legs and slammed it. That's how you do it.

Absolutely, Mike. I suggest players just keep recycling the same dunks over and over. Screw creativity.

This guy is a joke!

The dunk contest is and always has been about entertainment. Entertainment has been missing in the dunk contest for a long time and Dwight brought it back. I anxiously anticipated every dunk that this dude was getting ready to do. I have to admit that I have never seen someone that big with hops like that. That guy does not know the first thing about the dunk contest. If anyone with height could win it, then we would have seen more people Dwight's size win it before him. Dwight is the only person his height to ever win it since Larry Nance and he was shorter than Dwight.

Clearly he let his son write that, who was a Green fan.

But seriously, I hope he wakes up today and realises what a load of garbage he let out into the world. While reading that it felt like he had just been scorned and needed to relieve tension.

Did Dwight win it last year? No? Point made, bigmen don't automatically win. Heck, far from that, like everyone except for the baboon that wrote this article already pointed out. Without much doubt one of (if not the) worst articles I've ever read.

Ok, I tried to sum up what everyone said and I emailed him.

Props for the worst article of the year. CBS looks about as stupid as Fox sports when they hired Charley Rosen. Rivaling Screamin' A. Smith in stupidity must take talent. No wonder you're ragging on Dwight. You're one of those worthless writers that thinks naming greats makes you sound more knowledgeable and stating the obvious makes you funny. "He's freaking 7 feet. He should win. That's like giving Gary Coleman props for being short." HILARIOUS. Do yourself a favor and get a new job. No one wants to see the same garbage tomahawk LeBron dunks over and over again. Dwight brought creativity and athleticism, which is more than you'll ever bring to the field of writing.
