Or we could re-sign him this offseason because he has only said that he loves Sac. He's never said he's UNHAPPY here, he's always just been reacting to the trade speculation and stuff. But the guy has been a good mentor for our younger players, he's our best or 2nd best player, and he's probably better than any FA we could get anyway. So I wouldn't be upset if we resigned him and I don't think it should necesarily be ruled out.

Kleiza's a very decent young talent, and that's the general idea - but if he's going to stick, one of Salmons/Garcia/Douby are gone, eventually. As Kleiza coming in continues somewhat of a log-jam. He also would likely see time at PF.

Shelden freakin' Williams does make it okay. Him being a bust lacks credibility. There's more there for him to be something in the NBA than not.

Getting taken #5 in a weak draft was not his fault. Neither was having an erratic, ultimately limited oppurtunity in Atlanta.

Why not have something else to play with as well? To say we don't care about a draft pick because were all set with Sheldon is ridiculous. I'm not saying Sheldon can;t be a decent player, he can. But at the same time, I really don't see much more than that.

Agreed. The Nuggets were offering Najera/1st for Artest... We declined...That is just a crappy offer from the Nuggets... IMO Kleiza is a must for a basis trade regarding to obtain a player like Artest...

LK is great trading bait as well. I've heard a lot of teams are high on him and would like to have him. That's another reason why the Nuggs are reluctant to pull a desperate move right now.

You may be right, but it's too early to say that for sure. The important part of this argument though is that we have more than enough players that are as good as your average #20 pick. We're not going to get our franchise player there, we'll just get another benchish player/decent starter, and we can live without that.

I didn't say we don't care about that draft pick. Heck, it would be nice, but like I said the need for it has lessened in the last couple of days. The Kings have more than enough young talent to develop including the ones they pick up in the draft this year. Martin, Beno, Garcia, Hawes, Douby, Shelden, Lotto pick, 2nd rounder, and 2nd rounder.

In his mpg on average Shelden looks like a 10 ppg, 10 rpg, 1-2 bpg kind of player in starters minutes. Not to mention a perfect complimentary piece to a guy like Spencer Hawes who appears to have plenty of weapons in his arsenal that can be developed further.

This 19 year old has some nice insane moves for a 19 year old kid in the post, can pass and sees the floor just like a Brad Miller/Vlade type, has 3 point range!, so putting a bruiser like Shelden next to him makes perfect sense.

Looks like Artest may well just stay a King.

And Q-Ross would be a good pick-up for Phoenix. Not the most rangy shooter (don't think he's added a 3PT shot anyway), but is a nice hustler and defender that can hit the mid-range shot. Much more realistic than Ron.

Not surprising. After Artest's agent came out and all but said he'd be looking for big money AND the Kings moving Bibby for room under the tax threshold next year it was pretty obvious the Kings would just keep Artest and wait for a possible S&T

No call from Denver. Might still be a small deal for a Tyronn Lue type or maybe one of the other new guys from Atlanta. Ron Artest will be on this team tomorrow.

I think this is best for now. If Artest continues to play at the level he has been playing at we can either get more value for him in a SnT this summer or resign him to stay on the team which for his production will be good value for the Kings either way.

Yes, we have a good core to begin with...but we are no where near what we need to be, unless we want to become a future Denver/Houston type of a team...good enough for playoffs every year..but that's it.
