Owner Mark Cuban said before Friday's game he expects to sign two big men to fill out the 15-man roster, which was left shy of inside players when center DeSagana Diop was included in the trade to New Jersey for Jason Kidd.
Some obvious names might be on the Mavericks' radar.Jamaal Magloire was waived Friday by the Nets, and if he clears waivers he could be No. 1 on the Mavericks' list. The 6-11 center, in his eighth season, averaged 1.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 24 games for the Nets. However, as recently as 2005-06, he started all 82 games for Milwaukee and averaged 9.2 points and 9.5 rebounds
Others on the watch list include Justin Williams (waived by Sacramento) and Viktor Khryapa (waived by Chicago). Cuban said the team is hoping not to have to dip into the Development League to find replacements.
