Is Redd better than Manu Ginobili?

I think if the two of them played one on one at the Y or something like that...Redd would beat him. But when you throw them on a team and they have to play that type of basketball...Ginobili is a lot better.

Redd may win in PPG or whatever but they don't have a stat called DEFENSE and "fitting in perfectly with the offense" in which Ginobili would win both 100 to 1.

It could just be me, but perhaps if Ginobili had to play on a team with Simmons, Ivey, Voshkul, Bell, and CV instead of, say, Duncan, Parker, Bowen, etc. he might not look as good.

It's hard for me to say, personally.

I've never seen Redd play with players on the level of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, who Ginobili has had for his entire career.

We can do this in a very scientific way since some people like to judge off of this :

Ginobili: 1 gold medal
Redd: 0 gold medals

Don't try counting last year's FIBA Americas because Argentina had none of its stars.

It would be cool though, if you guys could talk again about that being a "Gold Medal" for Redd.

they are totally different players. manu is way more versatile. redd is a slightly better shooter, but manu's got him on everything. MANU?

Ginobili didn't need Duncan to win a gold medal, so I don't want to see anybody pretending that we have no idea whether Ginobili would be good without Duncan.

As stated, Redd hasn't had the advantage of playing with pros like Duncan, Horry, Bowen, ect.. He also hasn't had the advantage of being coached by Greg Popovich.

All in all, they're very close. Ginobili is just on an incredible roll right now.

The Bucks would be better with Manu just on defence. He used to get flack that he was getting his good offensive numbers against second units, however, check him out as a starter in 13 games this season:

Statistically-speaking, they are close, but if you watch them play, Ginobili is better than Redd IMO. Ginobili is a better leader, and ultimately a better team player.

In general, it's an advantage to play with Duncan, because he attracts defenders away from teammates and grabs plenty of rebounds, but Ginobili has proven he can play well without him, as proven by his international play, pointed out by Adam.
