SendEm wrote:Lastly you NBA forum participators exist in some fantasy world where every player at the guard position that is is under 6'5" gets posted up by bigger guards. In reality there probably hasn't been a game won in the history of the NBA by a shooting guard posting up the shorter players in the backcourt of the opposing teams.

you should familiarize yourself with a couple of guys named michael jordan and kobe bryant. they have taken one or two smaller guards into the post and forced teams to change up their defense and help down low. their height and length also allowed them to be great defenders which was a terrific help to their teams over the years. those factors did in fact help their teams win a few more games.

check them out. theyre kind of obscure but if you search around, nba.com will have their stats and bios.

while you're there, see if you can look up jason kidd, doug christie, aaron mckie, derek harper, or raja bell. maybe it will mention how their size at the guard positions helped them post up (kidd, mckie, christie) or shut down opposing guards, there by helping their teams to win games.

by the way... if you have trouble finding those guys on nba.com, you could probably go into the archives of playoffs and finals games and come across the names of the above players fairly often. between them i believe they have 13 finals appearences, and a handful of conference finals series as well.

good luck with your search.

Wow...I missed this one.

Just look back at what Mark Jackson did to Iverson in the Pacer/Sixer playoffs years ago. He'd post up Iverson and abuse him for stretches at a time. That was a huge reason the Sixers got abused by the Pacers in those series...Jackson would go in the post, either score if left alone or hit the open man if they doubled.

Even more recent...one thing GS did so well the other night was attack the mismatch. When the Sixers switched, and they had a mismatch on Miller or Williams (primarily those two) they worked the ball around the perimeter until they got the ball into that mismatch.

I cant believe Sendem said that lol. Hes suppose to be so smart when it comes to basketball. The Pacer/Sixer playoffs was the 1st thing that came to my mind when he said that. AI got abused in those series. Lets see what his answer to this is?
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

Quit arguing with this dude, it's not worth it. You will never convince him and sooner or later he'll just ignore you and have you talking to no one. He hates Iggy....and will never chnage. I mean in the Phoenix Topic he blamed Iggy's Good game on Pheonix sucking, which is funny because he was all over Bell's mansack a few weeks ago. He flipflops all the time. In the same topic, he was bashing the Shaq Trade. Then someone brought up a quote which had him saying that it was a brilliant trade. This guy is a joke. so quit wasting your time with him.
