In reality there probably hasn't been a game won in the history of the NBA by a shooting guard posting up the shorter players in the backcourt of the opposing teams.
you should familiarize yourself with a couple of guys named michael jordan and kobe bryant. they have taken one or two smaller guards into the post and forced teams to change up their defense and help down low. their height and length also allowed them to be great defenders which was a terrific help to their teams over the years. those factors did in fact help their teams win a few more games.
check them out. theyre kind of obscure but if you search around, nba.com will have their stats and bios.
while you're there, see if you can look up jason kidd, doug christie, aaron mckie, derek harper, or raja bell. maybe it will mention how their size at the guard positions helped them post up (kidd, mckie, christie) or shut down opposing guards, there by helping their teams to win games.
by the way... if you have trouble finding those guys on nba.com, you could probably go into the archives of playoffs and finals games and come across the names of the above players fairly often. between them i believe they have 13 finals appearences, and a handful of conference finals series as well.
good luck with your search.
