lol I love the arguement than CP3 has done the most with less... Morris Peterson was one of the most solid defense SGs and in youtube you can see clutch shot after clutch shot. Peja Stojakovic... your kidding? 3pt monster and one of the best shooters at it ALL-TIME. David West was definetly less, but he has come long ways since last years dissapointing season. Chandler has always been terrific. The bench had Bobby Jackson for a very long time. Jannero Pargo has always been a solid backup PG and got a lot of playing time last year.
And then Chris Paul, let's be serious, the guy is for real and he has been playing like the MVP this year.
But Deron Williams has had to work with 8 second round draft picks on the lineup.
At the beginning of the season, the Jazz were ranked 2nd youngest team in the NBA tied with Seattle Supersonics. Since the trades and waivemania, the Jazz dropped 5th youngest. The Hornets are somewhere in the middle.
CJ Miles 34th (Played tonight)
Kyrylo Fesenko 38th (In D-league)
Carlos Boozer 35th (Played tonight)
Mehmet Okur 38th (Played tonight)
Paul Millsap 47th (Played tonight)
Jason Hart 49th (Played tonight)
Kyle Korver 51st (Played tonight)
Jarron Collins 53rd (DNP - Coach Decision)
Ronnie Price Undrafted (Played tonight)
If you look at Boozer's stats, they have wildly increased since Deron Williams took the reigns from Keith McCloud last year. Also Deron Williams made Okur an All-Star last year. So I am really tired of the arguement that one does more with less. There is no team in the NBA that has so many 2nd round draft picks.
Plus, not even Stockton or Magic had two consecutive 19+ AST per game. Give the man some credit.
You really hurt your argument in comparing Williams to the two best PGs ever.
Honestly I wouldn't trade Williams for Paul or Nash, because they're all simply on similar levels, but I prefer Williams youth over Nash age, plus Nash isn't even a whole lot better if any better than Williams.
Then I'll take Williams over Paul because of his height, and he's much more powerful. I think Paul is better than Williams in his Hornet's role, but Williams is better in Jerry Sloan's system.
Like I've been saying all along, Paul is the runner up for MVP this year, behind Kobe, but MVP or not, I'll take Williams. On a talent level, they're probably equal, with just different skill sets.
