Wake me up when AJ helps this team in the playoffs. All I remmember is him giving up the easiest baseline drive in the history of basketball to LeBron in the playoffs.

Apparently you slept through last year's playoffs when he AVERAGED 32 and 10. Nobody's saying he's Superman, but I think some folks have an odd bias agianst him.

As for the complaining about him taking too many long jumpers, him taking 3's is very important for the Wiz offense. It stretched defenses - allowing better opportunities for his teammates.

Good thing he made shots and free throws late in the game, cuz you know all hes getting paid is 16 million a season...

None of this is new. It is fair to comment on though. Not sure why some are getting upset.

The good news is that up until this year he did mostly the same only he was the worst in the league at D. This year his D is better and he is rebounding better.

I would love to see him play a more efficient some nights. Basically, go with what is working and leave the rest to someone else, if there is someone else to do it. Tonight there was. Mason was on. So was NY. They should have been the ones shooting from outside. AJ hasn't been hot from the outside for a while.

Someone commented that you just have to take the good with the bad and that EJ doesn't like it either. Well, a coach should have some influence on what goes down. He should be able to help a player increase their efficiency and give the team what it needs.

AJ has been great this year but he does have one problem in his game that stands out and it's nothing new. He doesn't know when to stop forcing shots when he is cold on a specific shot. A shooter should give it a good effort to get warm but at some point, you need to except what you have that game and move on.

I always miss the game threads and catch it afterwards, but some things are entirely predictable. This team gets up off the mat and battles back most games that they win, making it that much more gratifying to peek back in and see who was running the chicken little routine at the half.

Seriously, do you even like the team, or you just like typing asterisks? This team has far too many kneejerk critics, or burned out self-important would-be 'objective' observers --and far too few irrational homers, cheerleaders and pompom wavers. Give me a cheerleader anyday. Hell, give me two....

But seriously, why follow the team expecting them to fail? Just cause you like to bitch and complain?

Big John Thompson always says he'd rather have a devoted enemy than a neutral friend, cause at least he knows where they stand when it matters most.

I'm starting to know what he means. But, nah. I understand the impulse, you just want to blow off steam. It's all a sort of passion for the team, I can forgive this kinda quote more than the dedicated haters and dispassionate naysayers.

But let me suggest one thing: next time this team is down, hold off on calling them all teh total suck losers, and watch for when the fight-back happens. This team is full of counterpunchers, strongminded. Our best wins (ATL before the two Celt games, then both of them) have come when previous years' teams would have broken or given up. This team fights back, makes a run every game, at least one. Never gives up. Cheer for that. Don't--as a fan-- collapse and hold up the white flag too early, learn from their example and stick with the team.

Go wiz.

I'd also ignore the fact his value to Wizards far exceeds what any other player in the league can bring here. I'd ignore his ability to jack up leaning 3s and throw feminine looking runners at the basket.

I'd also ship Nick Young's low IQ, high school baller mindset and ability to commit a turnover every other possession to some other team.

Yep, thank goodness I'm not a GM.

Indeed. Thank goodness.

My bias against Jamison isn't any different than the haterade some of you drink against say, Nick Young. Where the outlandish trades are thought of where you trade him away for say Kyle Lowry, a 2009 mid first round pick or for merely salary dumps...

My opinion on Jamison will never change until I see him step it up for the team when it matters. I'm also not buying his recent rebounding and defensive success because I belive a lot of it has to do with him being in a contract year which results in giving extra effort.

How did last night's eastern conference game against a playoff contender in the 4th quarter on the road not matter?

Like I said - he's not Superman. And we would have needed Superman (or at least Superboy and Kalel) - playing without Gil and Caron. 3 of the games were very close - because of Jamison's great efforts.

Did you not follow the playoffs last year?

My bias against Jamison isn't any different than the haterade some of you drink against say, Nick Young. Where the outlandish trades are thought of where you trade him away for say Kyle Lowry, a 2009 mid first round pick or for merely salary dumps...

That's a red herring, but yeah - If that mid first would get us Love, I'd trade Young for it, and I'd probably trade him Lowry. I wouldn't trade him for salary dumps. You can't seriously compare what Young has meant to the Zards to what Jamison has.

My opinion on Jamison will never change until I see him step it up for the team when it matters. I'm also not buying his recent rebounding and defensive success because I belive a lot of it has to do with him being in a contract year which results in giving extra effort.

The playoffs are damn important. He CLEARLY stepped up and kept them in the games last playoffs. The fact that the Wiz got swept, and the fact that you don't appreciate his efforts, doesn't change it. He can't win playoff games all by himself.

It's nothing short of amazing how much of a beating AJ takes by some folks on this board. With GA and CB missing a ton of games, AJ has been far and away the best (and most important) player on the Zards this season...and it has nothing to do with it being a contract year.

AJ gets tough rebounds, always plays hard and is even playing good D this season. And when his shot isn't falling, he finds other ways to help the Zards win...like he did last night.

It's laughable to suggest that AJ doesn't show up in big games, especially when he single-handedly kept the Zards in last year's playoff games against the Cavs.

Obviously, it's useless to argue with those who do nothing but bash AJ, occasionally tossing a compliment his way. I'm afraid they won't learn to appreciate what he brings to the Zards, both on and off the court, until he's gone.

+1

Lots of folks go WAY overboard with the hate on AJ although
there was one point early this game I remember them feeding
him like HE was on fire instead of 2-3 of his teammates. But
we were winning at the time. We didn't let them in the game
until all the careless TOs started happening.

In the past, there were definitely times when his softness
both defensively and offensively were frustrating. But that is
part of the package.

re tonight - TOR does not have the type of physical players
who tend to abuse our undersized PF (or tweener) Capt.

He's playing considerably better D this year than I can ever
remember him playing. He's boarding like a maniac. He's the
most consistent offensive threat we have at the moment. He
works his rear end off for the team. I REALLY hope we find
a way to hold onto him after this year.

great game by the kids/bench

N1, AB, RMj and DMac.

The last possession was nice but in retrospect, we were up 4
so it wasn't as hairy as it seemed at the time. You just didn't
want them to score, then foul and force us to make FTs (even
though we had a GREAT night at the charity stripe).

Any road win is a good win. A road win against a quality team
is a GOOD QUALITY win.

Go Wiz!

ps - it made sense that BTH didn't play much against Bargs who was
playing C for them. Now he's ready to bang Okafor and Nazr tonight.

After further review, the judges have informed me that the correct answer is actually gowiz999, not Gowizz99 as you originally stated. So, while you won
