I wouldn't be surprised if Bowen's suspended. But for the final contact on the loose ball exchange with Paul. Everything else before was tussling for the loose ball (early part of it), and then incidentally stumbling. The last bump by Bowen's leg I'd say was intentional and was like "get outta here".
The bump on Paul earlier before that just looked like an incidental collison on a possession transition.

Split hairs? I just said what I saw and remembered with the two incidents involving Bowen and Paul.
Were not in disagreement. Unless other than the last contact, you think there was intent on the rest of the stuff before the former.

Not really. It just looks like a normal hustle play prior to the kick. I dont know why bowen feels a need to do stuff like that. i dont know if its premeditated, planned, encouraged, etc. My hunch is he gets frustrated easily, which we see often with him as regards refs who make the right call and he gets all worked up over it. Problem is, his way of venting is trying to injure his opponent, that is unacceptable.
The problem with bowen is that its a pattern. alot of guys blow up once in awhile, one of my guys did famously when he clotheslined kobe in the playoffs. But when it happens over and over again, that just makes you a punk

I'm not sure what it is, but there definitely has been mulitple more than ordinary contact incidents with him. I think some of them have had intent, to get physical and frustrate, but others I think were incidental or I can't tell. Because on certain incidents, his body language and facial expression doesn't show of anything.
And in playing defense, he's active and quick, combined with his reputation as a defender, so he gets away with some more.
But the latter is the main reason why he's made it in this league. I appreciate and enjoy that craft a lot.

why isnt this good enough for him then? he could have gone down and been remembered as a guy that worked his way to a great NBA career. people eat that feel good stuff up. instead, he'll be remembered as a dirty player, if he's remembered at all.

i didn't watch this game but last night against the lakers tj absolutely carried the raps down the stretch. without him, the game isn't within reach. i went over to the raps board and they were actually hating on him. it was very surprising.

Uh no your clearly letting your hatred for the spurs or bruce bowen cloud your judgment

Not by people who put much more emphasis on the collection of the actions, than is actually necessary.

He already is known as that and will be remembered as that (correctly by specific types of fans and followers). It just depends by who, and how much his establishment is put out there. His path has been covered in the media variously, several times.
Obviously though, how he's come into his own in the league, hasn't been taken into consideration enough or at all, and a lot of people are recognizing the extraordinary more. Which is a much lesser amount in his career, compared to the rest of it.
That will be their view-point, and it's simply a limited one.
Now, as a whole, will the amount of incidents be part of why he's remembered? Yes. But unless somebody has a limited perspective, it's not the dominant memory. In the case of that, it's just not respecting his career. Which of course is wrong, and truly being a hater and overly ignorant.

SeattleSun wrote:"limited perspective" = Most sports and NBA fans. He'll be remembered as a dirty player much as a guy like Laimbeer is despite his many talents
Yup, which is because of that type of perspective. Which also partly comes from a side of the media. The emphasis on the uncommon.
I don't have a limited perspective. I'm aware of the make-up, rather than a fraction of the make-up.
Thus that is the most credible kind of view-point, because of the expanded nature of it.
Similar goes for Ron Artest. He's done a handful of bad things and that's obviously going to be a notable aspect of his career. But basketball-wise, this still should not get overlooked and lessened, as significant as the negative things he has done. Because in actuality as a player, Artest is one of the most unique players to play the game. Having some individual accomplishments to go with it.
All about the amount and kind of material somebody has. That forms the viewpoint.

He injured two knicks in the same game. Hes undercut numerous players every season. Hes kicked multiple guys. How is he NOT out there to injure? Him sticking his leg under guys repeatedly proves my point, he knows what hes trying to do out there.
