He just cant let disaster strike and have the team drop like a drunk butterfly
It's not quite that easy. Dallas and Utah are almost unbeatable at home, and as we know, Turiaf is going to be the Lakers starting center. They basically become a perimeter-only team, so unless they are hitting from the outside at a high percentage, the chances of them winning any of the next 3 games are slim to none.
Judging by what I saw tonight from Fisher and Vujacic, I don't see them taking any of the next 3 unless those teams have a total collapse.
You're setting Kobe up for failure if you think it's within his control to elevate this squad to a level capable of beating the next 3 teams they face. Houston is the only realistic shot (assuming Gasol misses the next 3), and they are playing out of their minds right now, so it isn't exactly the best time in the world to be playing them. Now if the 1st half of the season Fisher returns, their chances improve dramatically, but seeing as how he's been struggling since before the All-Star break, that seems unlikely. Outside of Kobe and Odom, there isn't much hope unless guys are hitting their wide open 3-pointers instead of shooting airballs (I'M LOOKING AT YOU VUJACIC AND RADMAN).
