I see fans and media alike judging the Shaq/Marion and Kidd/Harris & Diop trades only weeks after the trade happened. Same with the Gasol trade. People everywhere are grading these trades. I dont see how the consensus is to wait or year or two. Actually I dont recall ever seeing a trade ignored for a couple of seasons before people start claiming who won/lost.
Of course the trades aren't ignored. thats not even the point. For goodness sakes you have people grading trades BEFORE they even happen. The thing that NONE of them can say is that a trade is PROVEN to be a win for a team based on a short term injury. Link cougar post the links boy. What? none of you have ever turned on a TV and heard a Stephen A type spout out on how a trade or player signing is fantastic and should deliver a championship or do this or that tonly to see it never happen? So of course media types talk and guess what? They are the same media heads that come back a year or two later later and write pieces analyzing trades and players in light of how things actually turned out. Sometimes they even say - Gee this was a bust.
So gentlemen - "thou dost protest as Homers too much". IF ariza being injured means you won the trade what happens if Mo gets injured. they won? LOL!. Sillly stuff. Can any of you say he can't? and If LA keeps a healthy Ariza and MO walks and cookie is buried on the bench how would LA have lost? om what twilight world? Do not those things have a bearing and therefor prove that time is needed to assess as a proven win?
Sorry but I've seen trades that looked bad end up being good. and trades that looked great end up to be washed up in the light of what happens over a year. This is just basic common sense . It s kind of funny that many of you cannot process such a simple common sense fact.
and gato how many times in one thread do I have to tell you that my position is that you can evaluate this trade say in a year. the only time I mentioned anything about an immediate championship is I stated that a championship would validate a trade immediately. You are lost. I never said anywhere that The magic have to win a championship next year. I said all trades have to be evaluated on the basis of how they get you to the goal of winning one NO time limits were set and if you paid attention instead ofgoing into a frenzy when you see my name you'd realize I said repeatedly that say in a years time you could evaluate the trade.
So for all of you. It doesn't really matter what you say. At this point many on your own side have already conceded that long term no one can know for sure SO cougar and this thread have been invalidated. Its that simple. Ariza being temporarily injured doesn't matter one bit to proving a trade a win for the Magic over LA. WHelp louder it won't change it. Logic always wins.
Mo? Hes's okay. Nothing spectacular. Frankly he's s just your flavor of the month. A palatable player among a stack of weak SGs. i've been around long enough to see you get high on a player and then throw him over the side when he he doesn't live up to the hype. Gato of all people should confess Only recently did he change his sig to remove Mo from among the sub par SGs.
I guess its to be expected . Otis hasn't really had very many shinging moments and many of you are desperate for a win for the fellow so you wan't to call the game in the first quarter.

Nah. you can kid yourself all you want. real life indicates you will have to play it out longer.
