How is Boozer in the discussion? No way the Jazz let him go. Also he's due for a big contract we can't afford so forget about him.

If Lamar doesn't accept 8-9 mill a year(which he won't) I would definetly trade him. I doubt we can give him anymore then that(not too sure). Anyone know how much we can give him assuming Bynum gets 15-20 mill?

Nocioni has a +18.8 PER at PF, which is exactly the same as Lamar Odom.

Nocioni's opponent PER at PF is 15.5 whereas LO gives up +17.3 to his opponents at PF.

worth to mention that Noc plays lots of minutes against the opponent's second unit, so these numbers are not exactly objective.

lo's playing very well right now and hopefully this is how he'll continue throughout the rest of his career. he seems to be a good guy and he's got tons of god given talent. that being said, i can see why buss might flinch at paying him 15 mil per year on an extension.

just a question that you guys can help me out with.............how many teams would be willing to pay LO 15+ mil per year?

i'm actually hoping LO, kobe, gasol and bynum all agree to less than they can get on their next extensions to keep them all together..............but i'm guessing i'd have better odds at winning the lottery

u act like he does that full time..i woild like to see him go the whole game guarding garnett, duncan, dirk, or boozer..

LO+farmar > kirk and nocioni

if u think im crazy, go ahead and put that in your sig..farmar is playing better than we all expected, kirk is a huge drop off production from last year...nocioni is a bruiser, we know that...we got ariza for that..and we just signed newble.

I say no. With lamar as our third option, we are just too good. I mean how many teams have a third option as good as lamar?

Hinrich's value is at an all time low now and thats the main point in even trying this deal, otherwise you wouldn't even get him straight up for Lamar. Nocioni is severely underrated and since Odom is to play SF once we are healthy, his PER at SF is 10.1 and Nocioni's at SF is 13.5, there's no reason Nocioni can be equally good, if not better in our offense.

Re: Nocioni playing alongside 2nd units,

The Bulls' best 5 rotations based on win % are like this:

Hinrich-Sefolosha-Nocioni-Thomas-Noah
Duhon-Gordon-Deng-Nocioni-Noah
Hinrich-Sefolosha-Nocioni-Smith-Wallace

Surprise surprise! Noc, features in all of them. :D

I think it's unfair to decide that Odom is the guy who'll need to take a paycut so WE can win a championship. Imagine your boss saying of all the employees we've decided YOU should take a 40% paycut so our office will do better. Why can't Kobe, Bynum or Gasol take a paycut so we can keep Odom? I'm not saying he should get $15 million/year but he should get more than $10 million.

I've been lobbying Odom trades all year (for AK47, for Artest, for Marion, etc.) but right now he's playing so well. We take him for granted.

UCLA FTW.

Smartest post i've seen on this site since i've joined.

1. Odom will not take a pay cut for those reasons you mentioned in my opinion.

2. Unless the Lakers trade him as an expiring contract during the off season or the 08'-09' season, he'll end up back in Miami, believe that!

I would like to see how LO does when everyone gets back. But at this point I see no reason to trade him. I think as far as contracts go.. he should get something along the lines of what Sheed got when he got a new deal with the Pistons after the championship.

Sheed was getting around 13-15 million per year, but he signed a new deal that was like 5 years @ 10 million per. Not sure I would go 5 years, but I would give him a deal starting at 10 million per.

I think Odom should play for free tbh, he really should think about the endorsements he will get playing for a big market team like LA.

I don't think he deserves to take a paycut, nor do I think he deserves a raise. Right around $11 million, the average of his current contract, seems fair. (Only in the ridiculous world of professional sports could you type a sentence like that with a straight face).

IMO, the ball is going to be entirely in L.A.'s court. If Buss lives up to his comments about wanting to win at all costs, and nobody else loses all fiscal restraint and decides to throw some ridiculous deal at him, I expect we'll be able to resign him without too much trouble.

No, because a lot of Laker fans take Odom's rebounding, ball-handling, defense and slashing for granted.
