This team reminds me of the Chris Ford Bucks. We already had Ray and Glenn and just needed a decent coach to put it together.

I guess that's why I'm not on the 'blow up the team' bandwagon. I view the players as raw materials that need to be utilized correctly. Going iso with Redd at crunch time time and time again is idiotic, and Michael certainly deserves much of the blame for being so anti-clutch. But either LK is calling those plays or LK is failing to punish Redd for not running the plays he is calling.

We need someone with authority who is respected by NBA players and has the stones to sit Redd when he's chucking or Bogut when he's missing bunnies/FTs. Not to mention bring a little excitement back to the BC. That's why I voted Brown.

Avery Johnson if Cuban is crazy enough to fire him when the Mavs miss the playoffs.

I could not disagree more vehemently. The 07/08 Bucks are a toxic mix of players who must be broken up.

I'm here as well.

Dinj, think back to the team that George Karl took over in August 1998.

Ray Allen - budding all-star starting his third season
Terrell Brandon - a PG who made the all-star team the TWO consecutive prior seasons before we traded for him.
Tyrone Hill - Again, a PF who made the all-star team two years before we traded for him.
Glenn Robinson--the overall #1 starting his fourth year (prime time)
Ervin Johnson -- defensive minded center who could average 10 rpg.
Robert Tractor Traylor-- Sure, he busted, but remember that when George was hired, he was the #6 overall pick in a very strong draft that we just traded up to get. Majerus thought he'd be Barkley.

Four guys of that starting five made or would make the all-star team, plus you had the hope of Traylor in his rookie year. And a defensive center in EJ who knew his role and didn't need the ball to be effective.

Do we really think any of our guys will ever make the all-star team, save maybe for Bogut going in a year or two?

Hands down that 1998 team was if not loaded, really stacked with talent that needed a coach. And GK to his credit realized that he needed to make some moves to get the right chemistry.

Mo Williams reminds me of Brandon a guy with allot of talent but for some reason is not motivated to play for milwaukee...

PS..I know Mo Williams is not even close to Terrell Brandon's level but same situation.

Think back to that trade that Bob Weinhauer made with Seattle/Cleveland.....

He knew Vin Baker was an alcoholic and Kohl knew Vin would want a big contract. So he deals him and we end up with a two-time all-star PG and an all star PF in Hill.

Now was Hill a great player? No, but he was a 13/10 player just like Bogut and Magloire. And Hill did all the dirty work.

And on top of it, we got a #1 pick tossed in for good measure. Brandon was a pain in the ass, but add he and Hill to the current Bucks team and we'd be in great shape.

I remember Brandon's home opener like it was yesterday, Cassell just torched him in the post for like 36 points.

Edit: it was 33 points.

Agreed....but credit George Karl because he shipped them both out for an outstanding grab bag of talent that fit.

I remember when we almost traded brandon and hill for David robinson. Was that trade ever close to happening? or just a widely talked about rumor? Did kohl veto that trade as well? i remember a lot of the posters didn't like the idea of trading for robinson because he was getting old, and Duncan was becoming the star.

I would like to see larry brown hired as GM and Kohl giving brown full responsibility to implement a new offense and defense. and kohl giving brown full authority to trade every single player. and kohl giving brown full authority to hire a coach to match his style. and Kohl giving brown full authority for at least 25 years before he steps in to change things. and kohl firing all of his other cronies.

I'd take Avery Johnson if Mark Cuban decides to fire him.

Terrell Brandon with the Bucks is one of the great all-time mysteries of this franchise. The guy was an All-Star PG and one of the great people in the league. His charitable work in particular was honored numerous times. Plus, he was viewed as a terrific teammate.

Then he comes to the Bucks and turns out to be a gigantic assh**e. I don't think anybody could have seen that coming. His transformation from a great person and teammate to a bonafide team cancer was not only shocking but it effectively ended his career. He was never the same after his stint in Milwaukee. His constant whining about wanting to be traded out west was a joke but the best punchline came from Glenn Robinson (hardly the funniest guy you're ever going to meet) who said after Brandon was traded to the Western Conference Timberwolves:

"Terrell finally got his wish. He's been traded out West."

Nicely done Big Dog. :D

Tyrone Hill, by all accounts, was pretty much a jacka** everywhere he went so the fact he was a d**k with the Bucks surprised nobody. I know one person who grew up with Hill and said he was a big-time punk in high school and never changed once he got to the NBA.
Nothing will not break me.

Wish we could've gotten Mo Cheeks. He's very good, as is Nate McMillan. Cheeks landed in a mess with Philly and has turned them around into a playoff team. Helps they have a solid PG as well.

I'd like Rick Carlisle.

I'd also like to see if Sessions is capable of playing bigger minutes at PG. I think Bell and Sessions could split PG duty so we don't have to draft one in a draft with a nice group of small forwards.

Mo and Bobby need to go. As does the last Larry remaining.

I think Rick Carlisle could come in here and do a good job of getting everybody on the same page and yet develop guys who need developing.

here is a quote from George Karl after the Brandon trade

"I felt it was going to be a distraction, and why should I start out without a committed team?" Karl says. "Ray [Allen] had committed to us. Glenn [Robinson] had committed. And now we have Sam [Cassell], who will be here for a while."
